Crazy Theories, After RG's Paradigm Reset

Despite the number of ideas I've read around the God's war most people seem to still be thinking of it as a binary conflict, only two sides. Some example ideas being: the CG and his allies against everyone else or the old gods against the new comers. I think that the war is much more multifaceted than that. There is a central conflict which almost certainly involves the Crippled God but also much more which is not necesarily part of the Crippled Gods machinations.
Many of the gods are trying to use the war to aquire more power: ST & Cotillion (then again they're always trying to get more power), Poliel is (or was, until Paran decided to use her to play fetch with the Deragoth) using the CG to increase her own power without caring much for his scemes. Some Gods are trying to clean house (D'rek) some are trying to hold what they have or just stay alive (Fener) and some are trying to reinstate themselves.
Which brings me to my theory.
The Errant, who doesn't seem to give a flying monkey about the Crippled God, is looking to return to the power of his early days and to do that he needs to remove those who have taken his place. That would be Ganoes Paran, Master of the Deck, the Errant being Master of the Tiles. He actual says that he challenges the Master of the Deck - this also sets him pretty well with the Crippled God as Paran seems very anti-CG. Also he has, I think an issue with Oppon, who has taken his place as god(s) of luck.
I think that over the next few books he will move against both Paran and Oppon, thinking that as an elder god he will be able to handle them both at once. He will succeed at destroying Oppon, since they are pretty wimpy - couldn't even stop Fiddler pulling them into his cardgame in BH. Paran, though, will finish the Errant. This bit may just be because Paran is my favourite character, they might all die.
The truly crazy bit of my theory comes in at this point: With both the Errant and Oppon out of the way Corabb Bhilan Thenu'alas will somehow ascend and become the god of Chance. He will then bless Leoman of the Flails with long life and Haunt him with exceptionaly bad luck for all of that long life.
Anyway, that's my two cents worth. If I think of anymore they'll get put up here later.

Also posted this in "A Thread about D'rek"...
Ok, crazy theory based on the title in bold above...
D'rek, the Worm of Autumn, is actually a KCCM Matron, who was in exile until she decided to get back in the game to oppose the CG. When she tried to kill Tayschrenn, he made a bargain with her - use of the Imperial Warren to hide her KCCM air fortresses in exchange for his life, and peace with the Malazan Empire... possibly even the exile of the Adjunct, so that the 14th goes to oppose the CG on Lether.
what say?
EDIT: Maybe she even killed all the priests using a Matron scream ?

There is mention of a goddess, the Matron of Decay, the Mistress of Worms - a half dozen titles - in Gothos's Folly - in the fragments possessed by the temple. Or at least, once in the temple's possession - those scrolls disappeared -'
'When?'
Banascher managed a bitter smile. 'On the night of Tayschrenn's flight from the Grand Temple in Kartool. He has them. He must have them. Don't you see? Something is wrong! With all of this! The knowledge that I hold, and the knowledge that Tayschrenn must possess - with his access to Gothos's Folly - we must speak, we must make sense of the what has happened, and what it means. This goes beyond the Imperium - yet this war among the gods - tell me, whose blood do you think will be spilled? What happened in the cult of D'rek, that is but the beginning!'"

This topic may have been approached already but I couldn't find anything in a search so here it goes:
QB has a part Teblor soul in him(Jhag?). During his fight with Icarium his part Teblor soul was "awakened" but could still not beat Iccy.
Because of this he is able to draw on his own personal warren which gives him an unknown amount of power, as well as still being able to use 6-7 more warrens at any given time. It could be that his personal warren actually adds fuel to his use of other warrens, giving him an almost undepleatable source of energy or power. Kinda like Karsa(assuming that is how Karsa is so powerful).

This raises an interesting point. Consider that gods, like mortals, are obviously not content to just be chucked out of power or told what to do. Togg and Fanderay returned to power after millenia... Fener is still hanging around.. the Errant managed to stay in existance... Drek wiped out its own priesthood... the Bhargast gods returned after a few generations of MIA... Mael has an active priesthood or three that he actually ignores, plus the whole 'Waiting Man' thing from the islanders Tehol set up... there's a very real, very active element to the gods in this conflict, and not only that, but as we saw with Poliel, they are vulnerable... immensely powerful, yes, but not omnipotent by a long shot.
It was suggested somewhere... Cot and the dragons in TB, iirc, that the conflict revolves around the Elder Gods. But the 'Elder gods' aren't even a clear category in themselves, and they are on many sides plus their own.
- Abyss, notes that's a long winded way of saying 'it's complicated'.

I just had this thought what if Dessimbelackis comes back to the living or at least wakes up like Treach did. Here is my thought. Dessimbelackis will only come back when the hounds of Darkness and the hounds of Shadow merge. Some how he made an agreement with The Deragoth and when they join with the Shadow Hounds He is reborn as a powerful ascendant that can veer from the 5 remaining to the original founder of the Human Empire. All that he needs is for The Deragoth to finally find the hounds of Shadow and then to come awake.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Dassem is ascended, so is Kellanved and Dancer.
My theory:
Dassem faked his death is 7C because he no longer believed in the cause of the empire. After ascending he attempts to dissuade ST and Cot from their attempts to conquer the world. Denied.
Afterwards Dassem is somehow found in the mysterious moving warren of the CG and a tentative alliance is forged. The two will work together in bringing down the House of Shadow and derail the empire.
To sum up, Dassem is a renegade ascendant who desires the fall of the Malazan Empire and House Shadow.
Also QB knows this and plays both sides in an attempt to gain power and ascend!

Hmm.
The most obvious objection to that is that Traveller's actions in HoC were very bad for the CG, and great for Shadowthrone. In fact, it was just what Shadowthrone wanted. With Andarist removed and the Tiste Edur repelled, ST was able to move in and seize control of the true Throne of Shadow.
Given that, it's just not realistic to argue that Dassem/Traveller is acting in the CG's best interests. He's clearly his own man, though he was up to something with Hawl and her mysterious Malazan naval accompaniment.

And there's also the fact that Cotillion just upped and told Younghand to give the sword to Traveller and tell him his names. Given the extent of both Shadowthrone's and Cotillion's prescient knowledge, they'd be fools to give him the Andii Gom Jabbar. Unless, Traveller is under the pretense of working for the Crippled God for the machinations of Shadow. Wheels within wheels.
And this isn't really a theory, but more of a poll question...
Do you think that any of the known characters were playable characters in any one of the sessions that SE and ICE had? Or who would be the best candidate.

I imagine every session they had went along these lines:
SE - "No, it's my turn to be Kalam."
ICE - "But, but, I don't want to be the Claw again!"
SE - "No, it's my turn to be Kalam."
ICE - "But, but, I don't want to be the Claw again!"

rrg, for the last time the deragoth are not hounds of darkness, this needs to be established. SE confirmed it... didnt he?
im pretty sure he did, but anyways if they are hounds of darkness they would have allegiance to KG and the tiste andii which they clearly do not.
my new theory that i just thought of is that the hounds of shadow are descended from the deragoth and made a deal with the edur. i dno how likely that is though. more likely the connection is somewhat more convoluted ala SE
There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.

That doesn't eliminate the possibility of them being Shadows of the Degaroth...
I think the forum should file a class-action suit against Osserc for confusing us with the "Hounds of Darkness' bit..May I suggest Rake as prosecutor?
As for Dissembelackis, he is the mules.

I think Osseric should come face to face with the "Hounds of Darkness", who want to have a private word with him. Or, as they cant speak, a private rip-parts-off-the-idiot-Eleint session.

I'm so glad I found this thread... Crazy Theory of mine is as follows... Toc the Younger comes back to life as The Errant... the only reason I say this is that the both lost an eye... and Toc keeps coming back in bodies with only one eye.... On a side note the two wolves that possess Tocs, eye gaurd an empty throne...as seen in the new deck of dragons in the bonehunters.... so I proclaim that the Errant..aka Toc... will sit on the throne of war...I know real crazy, but hey Its the name of the threaad
