I have to admit I’m uncomfortable with second hand clothes, very likely all in my head but no idea what people have done in them before

Would recommend avoiding cargo shorts.

This advice is either really good or really bad.

Wanting to look good, good advice.

Wanting to survive a life with kids with pants that will make your life measurably easier, bad advice.

Kohls.com, cause. They're fast-fashion throwaway clothes, but I still have items from there that I've had for 10 years.

I'd recommend signing up for their email newsletter, as they send out loads of coupons. They also have lots of sales. Do not ever buy something from them for full price.

Gearing up to have kids right now. Still not going to wear cargo shorts. That phase of my life ended in high school.

Cargo shorts solve nothing that a fanny pack or a small bag/purse doesn't do better.

Plus Cause is a single person in NYC - not the judgiest place ever, but people gonna be judging.

You're not seriously advocating picking a fanny pack or a purse over cargo pants?! Do you want him to be mocked to death?

Have to agree here - if you want to wear a bum bag ... you might as well wear socks and sandals.

Men do not carry purses. Pockets are the ideal solution. Backpacks or those satchel thingies like Indiana Jones has are permissible when whatever it is doesn't fit in the pockets.
End of discussion. :no

For people with kids, a fanny pack, big purse, or bag is better than cargo shorts. I have learned this through years of babysitting.

I have 47 first cousins and about 1/3 of them are younger than me. Both my parents are one of seven siblings and most had multiple children.

A grown adult should wear non cargo shorts.

As a cargo shorts fan I feel attacked.

I can have my phone and work phone and library phone, a wallet, one or two set of keys, a note pad, pens and still have extra room when I'm at work. Cargo pants are the only good thing about summer.

You sure don’t want to be judged for wearing cargo shorts. Better to play it safe with......a fanny pack?

I will never give up on cargo shorts. They never go out of style, if they’re never IN style...

So I have a second cousin I have never met who lives in philly who has offered me her guest bedroom. Apartment looks like a huge step up. Tell me about phili!
Not that it seems to matter, spent 3 weeks in ny and might as well have been trapped anywhere.

Philly is a great city. Home of the first congress. Full of history and monuments. I can say that having never been there. Now from what I hear the people of philly consider 'It's always sunny in Philadelphia' to be a documentary rather that a comedic show......
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Classic US big city with really good food.Neither the best nor worse at anything really, imnsho.
If i had to pick between NYC and Philly i'd likely stick w NYC, but my context is skewed because i've only visited both, never lived in either.
