Dollars to donuts that was hands down the best episode they've yet done. We were nearly standing on the couch freaking out by the end.

Goddamn, I love this show.

Yes, this really was the best episode so far. I really like Agents of Shield and Arrow, but this show just blows both of them out of the water.

FUCK that gave me goosebumps!

Yes, that was a killer line!

And I agree about the show being leagues ahead of AoS...I love AoS too...but THE FLASH is literally like candy every week to me.

That episode was outstanding on so many levels. Can't wait to see where they're going to take this show.

After reading that link about the possibility of a third show set in the same universe as The Flash and Arrow, I'm really intrigued by where they'll go with it. Since I haven't read any DC comics to be honest, I don't really know who half of these characters are, but from the stuff I've see so far, and what little i do know of the existing comics, it seems like they're leaning towards doing a Final Crisis/Infinite Crisis storyline.

But could they really try and pull that off without the really big guns of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, especially when there are movies coming with the first 3 as well (and an Aquaman movie).

Much as I enjoy Arrow, The Flash jumped to another level with this one. And Agents of Shield isn't even close (I still find myself cringing at their special effects stuff in every episode, it looks so cheap).

@QT - Since you seem well up on the DC stuff, where do you think they might be going with a 3rd series in terms of heroes and villains, and the feeling of "event-iness" that they want from the storyline??

I'm a bit wary of the plans to make a third show that is supposedly all about the "event-iness" of the arrow/flash crossover. The link told us basically nothing, and this paired with the previous idea gives me a feeling that it's a cashgrab. And it makes me afraid that it'll fail spectacularly due to needless pandering and an overeagerness to please the viewers.

It'll be interesting to see where they're going with it, but I will be watching with a suspicious mind.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

I think if they DO make this new show it's going to be a miniseries style deal with crossover of villains and heroes and not just Barry and Ollie, you know? That'd be my guess.

I guess I'm an outlier here, but I still enjoy Agents of SHIELD more than The Flash. Don't get me wrong, the last 5-10 minutes of last week's episode were awesome, but an episode is a lot more than the very end. And Agents of SHIELD does a better job with the first 35-40 minutes. In my opinion.

Sorry, I was under the impression that when we're in a thread about a show, that it's spoilers up to the latest episode. I know I never go into a thread about a TV show until I've watched the latest episode.

I know I shouldn't either, but I get lulled into a false sense of security when everyone spoilers so well, for so long, that even though I'm an ep behind I can still visit the thread to post about the one I just watched without getting spoilered. If I go into a thread full of spoiler tags I follow likewise.

Yeah, i think the fact that the UK is a week behind doesn't help. For us the latest ep was Firestorm resolution and so on.
meh. Link was dead :(

I believe we should definitely tag all major developments in the shows/books we're discussing with spoilers. I remember a major event being ruined for me in the MBotF because someone put it in the thread title which then showed up in the "new threads window"

So yeah, let's hide all major events with spoiler tags.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Actually Andrew Keiesberg has said that like Doctor Who the time travel in FLASH will have things that can't be changed, set points in time that must stay...so he can't do over it all...which makes me happy.

They won't kill Cisco. As a comic reader, you can trust me on that.

This episode played out different from what I expected, which is not neccessarily bad, but I do feel, aside from some parts, this was a somewhat weaker episode compared to the past few weeks of goodness.

Some of the things seemed rather forced and not all that believable

Overall I agree, the episode didn't play out how I thought it would. But I will say I liked the resolution with Cold. His comics counterpart is exactly about business first and formost, so the end of the ep in the woods made sense. I also like that the trade-off Barry had to make for screwing with time events and fixing some of what happened the week previous was

That ups the stakes for me.

yeah, I liked that part aswell, I especially like Cold himself and his general disdain for Flash, made more pronounced with him

Cold and his douchey friend, whatshisface, the fire guy makes for some excellent recurring villains.
