i remain unimpressed.
Maybe the entire 6th book is not about fireworks, but about them settling their differences/ finding a way to deal with Mark permanently. All the upgrades they received this time around allow for proper and faster rebuilding of Whitechapel and more efficient management, not so much for violence or bigger fireworks.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see the story end the way it begins (KK restoring her heli is a sign, I think), which means that Ellis meant for FA to concentrate on the (second) big wtf moment in their lives, which is realizing they are immortal - and then how they plan to deal with it and grow up and over their teenage angsts, which imho fits the Jack-Sirka reconciliation Kait tries to push unto Jack in book 5 after he tried to kill Luc.
Anti-climactic it may be, but story-telling wise it makes sense.
