What I took from the scenes of domestic tranquility:

- Emphasis on natural routines of predation, production and consumption. It's wired into us to find food (grow plants, kill animals), prepare it and then eat it. Survival impulse and all. My extension of that logic: the helicopter was always coming. There's a band of predators that have found enough hardware to go around taking what they need and being badass enough that they can get away with it.

- Showing how fire and electric power/light is crucial to all inhabitants of the Freakangels land. Makes me think that darkness is coming. Perhaps the power plant will be hit.

- The moat in time ages people dramatically. Two week period to get out of it too. I wonder how long Arkady will be able to keep it uncrossed by her lonesome.

Interesting points. Would be very Ellis'ian.

Where in England is Walthampstow? Is it a part of London?

Because from what I gathered of their mental meeting, that time moat was a first. They hadn't managed to do something like that before.

But that guys uncle once got caught in one for decades.

Does that mean there are other "freak angels" out there? Was this time moat one that Mark made? Or have the freak angels done this before and I'm just making stuff up?

It's in London, yeah, but a ways out from the center.

As for the time thing, Connor mentions two episodes previous that they've been told about time anomalies before, I get the feeling it's part of how they fucked up the world. Although the 'other FreakAngels' theory isn't unlikely, especially with what could scare Mark.

Today I managed to read all one hundred-odd episodes of FreakAngels. I decided to check it out as I've heard Abyss plug it a few times, and a friend recently recommended it. I only just realised that, having done this, I'll have to wait all week to get another FreakAngels fix, and I spent most of a day reading comics on the web when I should have been studying for an exam.

Curse you Ellis, and your addictive web-comic!

wandering anomaly thing we've seen ref'd before. Nothing prevents there being another FA tribe out there, in fact knowing Ellis i'd bet on a Chinese set showing up at some point, but either way, it's a (un)natural phenom that they replicated for the moat.

Today's totally didn't go as expected, but between the rib-spreader, Luke's infinitely dense stellar balls, and Miki, it was still good fun.

It looks like it's back to the old slowly-moving FreakAngels, at least temporarily.

I figured we were building to something but it seems Connor's vision and upgrades were what we were building to.

Yeah. I am reading it right that they're over their coma, right? It did end rather oddly.

It does seem odd that they talked about Arkady being the only person conscious during the mass sleepy-time and then skipped over that time.

Perhaps we'll return to it as the others ask Arkady what happened while they were out. I doubt it though - the Mark thing seems to assert primacy as we go along.

I really liked Luke's stepping back for a moment and realize that he's been a terrible git for a while now.

The reference to it this week was hilarious, and a good way to end the episode. I want to see the implications of their upgrades though, wish they'd get into some action.

Anyone wanna bet that Mark's evil plan involves semi-nuclear detonation of Luke's balls?

Funny ep today but the humour seems to be overriding the action.

Also... Jack... ew...

Laughing my ass off about today's episode, though I agree about the humour-action discrepancy :p

You know, I've gotten used to the sometimes weird art style of the comic, but todays blood spatter blobs inserted over the characters heads and shirts seemed really ... well, lazy. I wonder if he couldn't get it to look right and just went "fuck it, I'll photoshop cheesy blood on top of the image."

I think you're being overly picky about this.

I don't understand how we go from the Freakangels being super-worried about Arkady being the only one to hold together a moat in time to them going to drink. I'm beginning to think that Ellis didn't really have much of anything planned for that and is winging it here.
