Yes unfortunatly. This was when the books weren't popular, but I tell you, the fangirls were still crazy... I had literally never heard of this book, but she kept telling me to read it, and I kept agreeing, and saying complimentary shit.
Then I read the book.
Things went severly downhill from here.

I tried to watch this movie. After about 20 minutes I gave up. I'd like to compare its suckiness to something, but I can't really think of anything else that sucks as hard. Well, it might suck as hard as a liposuction hose on a fat girl's tummy...maybe just a little more.

I went to see the movie with a girl I was currently trying to get with. She loves the books, but luckily wasn't a rabid crazy Twitard(though she did wear a Twilight t-shirt to the movie). Afterwards, it was a quiet ride back to her place, until she admitted that the movie was horrible. Then we both made fun of it the rest of the ride.
Amusing, to say the least.
