Okie, I've got some suggestions for ya Mappo:

1. If she really thinks that the things Edward does is romantic, you should do them and see if she still feels the same way.
1a: The easiest to just frequently bring up how she smells so very delicious and you are having a hard time restraining yourself from biting her face and sucking out her blood.
1b: My personal favourite would be to stand at the foot of her bed all night, staring at her and stroking her while she sleeps and as soon as she wakes up tell her what you've done all night and then declare that you have to go and quickly depart. Repeat every night.
There are plenty of other great examples of Edward's "romantic" actions, should be able to find them in any negative review.

2. You could try just forcing yourself upon her. Jacob did it and Bella seemed to think of it as romantic. Oh wait, no, she went home crying to her dad (who then laughed about it because his daughter's skanky). But she still went out with Jacob afterwards anyway, so clearly a Twilight-enamored person wouldn't think it was a big deal and certainly wouldn't break up with you! (Note: don't take this advice)

3. I'm scheduled to run a Twilight-themed Mafia game on these boards in a few months. Either hold out that long or convince the mafia folk to let me run it early and I guarantee you'll gain an encyclopedian knowledge of the books. Except for all the parts I make up, like lesbian zombies, alcoholic policemen and Torvald Nom being in the book...

Just don't RP in any shape or form. Act as if you were a sports analyst instead.
Playing properly in character gets you killed.

Lol. Still bitter we offed you first DW?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Not really.
I just found it abhorent that playing in character brought about such venom from other players.
I mean what's the point of having settings and characters in a game if no one plays them?

D'rek, I took your suggestions, and did some "Edward" things, like telling her I wanted to eat her (not in THAT way, naughty-minded people ) and suck her blood, and that I can't read her mind, and it's driving me crazy. I even put some glitter on my jumper, but, alas, it didn't work. She didn't swoon. Not at all. Not even a blush, or a smile. Apparently "I'm not doing it right". Silly female. I thought I did a spot-on impression. I even did the very awkward-not-romantic-at-all stare into her eyes while she was listening to her iPod. She was creeped out. At least that was a success.

Ok, it sounds like I moved out of the US at the right time. I hadn't heard of twilight until this thread. Let's* hope it doesn't invade Japan.

As for Mappo? In my experience, any woman who uses sex as a bargaining chip, even jokingly, should be left. Soon. That's total BS any way you look at it.

And as a long time player of Vampire the RPG, this image of vampires makes me want to vomit.

Haha she just read this thread, and asked rather diffidently if I would ever leave her. I think all the dumping talk is scaring her haha.

Meh, she probably has already (she lurks on my account occasionally (she likes using the new posts button)), and I doubt she'd care. I never posted any pics anyway. Besides, she's not the jealous type, even though she's more than a little crazy lol.

This whole thread makes me giggle. If she wants you to be as "romantic" as Edward (who comes off more as the deeply crazy stalker type than romantic imo; but what do I know?) you should pressure her to be like whatever impossibly sexy fictional female character you choose; and see what she thinks of that... What's sauce for the goose etc.

The issue is that these books are basically Pr0n for teenage girls, and for some women old enough to know better (the Bridget Jones books have a similar pernicious effect on some of the 30-something female demographic they're targeted at; so it's not only you youngsters who get to suffer from this kind of thing), and as such are completely inapplicable to the real world. Romance is good btw (a romantic gesture every now and again can be fun for both parties) but anyone who thinks their relationship should be based on their partner living out their misty-eyed fantasies of fictional perfection is both deluded and deeply immature.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Who doesn't? I don't know how much shit I miss because I now use it pretty damn exclusively.

Edit: Also, yeah, sex as a bargaining chip is shenanigans. Either: 1. you're not doing it right; or 2. she's lying because she likes it as much as you do. I have faith in you so vote #2.

Felisin, DG. She went into bed with another woman while her lover watched and later joined... Might be worth a try?

1. Men peak at around 18-20. Women peak at about 30. You are probably waaaaay hornier than her so chances are, she might win this simply because she doesn't want sex as much as you do.
2. Any woman who says she never masturbates is lying.
3. She's acting like a child. But you are both very young (and I don't mean that in a patronising way, just that you're only 18, you've got plenty time, it's not like you're planning to marry her) so you may choose to forgive her. However, if she's pulls this kind of nonsense again that means she has learned she can get away with it. ie if she does it again DEFINATELY dump her!
4. I would just like to make the point that not all women are like this.

That's my 2 cents.
