When y'all saw Spidey did they play the opening few mins of Valerian for y'all as well?

No just the normal trailer.

Was it good?

Reviews for Valerian have been quite positive. Apparently it gets a bit overindulgent later on (which to be fair is hardly a surprise) but is fun and the opening in particular is supposed to be jaw-droppingly good.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Huh. They played a trailer for it at my screening, frankly I thought it looked terrible, very cliche and waaaay too much CGI. Completely ruled off my list of movies I might ever want to see. :S

A Wrinkle in Time looks cool, but why is Oprah in it?

She seems like a weird choice. Her acting resume is decent I suppose...but not extensive.

I'm also baffled by the Reese Witherspoon casting.

They are good actresses.

Are they?

Of the three astral characters, the only casting I like is Mindy Kaling.

This is very efficient, almost blasé, expert level trolling and I would give you a high five if I could.

Well, an iconoclast to which much is owed has passed. George A. Romero. RIP.

Is it trolling if you're speaking the truth?

If you're only doing it to get a rise out of someone, in a way that is designed to annoy them, then yes, it would still technically be trolling. :)

So on sunday I'm going to Prague to see Dunkirk in the only cinema in Europe projecting it from 70mm film or something, a friend is a big fan of Nolan and talked me into this, the trailer looked really good though.

I've been hearing the word "masterpiece" in a fair number of reviews.

I want to see this but I won't.

I already know the story in great detail, plus movie tickets are gettng more and more expensive. It did look gorgeous in the trailers though.

It's great to hear the reviews on Dunkirk. I've been saying for ages that I wanted Nolan to step back from all his clever-clever ideas and trying to be Satoshi Kon and just focus on telling something simple as best as he can, and it sounds like he's done that and pulled it off flawlessly.

I've been hearing it's only 107 minutes long and sending out "thank you" vibes to any god that will take 'em, cuz that's a dang miracle these days.

This will probably be the focus of a lot of discussion. Or maybe not.
