We've accepted an offer on our house, and had an offer accepted on a house we want to buy. So far, so good. We completed all the paperwork on the solicitor's weird portal app thing last week and sent the payments on account, to be told it's with their "new business team" to check everything.

Said new business team just called and left a message saying had we found another property and was the purchase not proceeding. Estate agents know nothing about this, so seemingly it's just nonsense.

I have had plenty of experience of conveyancing being an absolute mess... and yet with each new time I hope it'll be better. We aren't even out of the starting gates yet and we've already got a moron.

Zow. I'm sorry. I hope it's a short segue into something better.

I'm not totally unhappy — there was a lot I did not like about my job. In a sense, this was a good push by the gods of randomness to get me off my ass.

Sorry to hear you got laid off mang.

For me, things have been very up and down, the downs outweighing the ups:

Two weeks back, I felt like ass garbage, turns out I'd caught covid again so was nearly bedridden for two days (and wife caught it and had to cancel a concert she was looking forward to for like a year). After that, I was in the recording studio for two solid days tracking drums with a vile throat infection, I was sleeping badly, nearly passed out at work a bunch, nearly passed out after our last show.

I'm on the mend now and nearly back to my usual self but it's been a shite couple of weeks.

Playoff game. Dropped a 4:2 lead due to a dodgy penalty call, and last minute their striker whom I won every ball off all game in every 1 v 1 manages to receive a layup and one-times it to equalize. We lose on PKs.

Frustrating, because it was easily my best game all season (i stopped like a dozen 2 v 1 attacks, and gave 2 assists after winning the ball).

Also, had to foul in 1st half, got a knee to knee hit. Gonna have a solid bruiise for the next few days.

Of course you were injured somehow.
Hopefully it's just a bruise. But you aren't getting any younger, man. ;)

Thought we were in the rando retro thread there for a moment cause that could easily have been a 2010 post.

WTF....

If it were a poll by a partisan right-wing organization, or some unknown and possibly incompetent pollsters, I'd discount it. But of course if anything the Washington Post leans left (for the United States...).

Polling should be illegal. It's misleading lies, damned lies, and statistics.

Internal polling or public polling? ‘Cause I’ve hit a couple campaigns, and I generally like to know who and how many I’m trying to f—-.

Was shopping at a Macys a coule days ago for new jeans. While I waas there I saw a man trying to exit the building get swarmed by security and escorted to the office.

Went back last night to return one pair of the jeans and noticed that a section of the store I hadnt looked at before had all the shirts basically chained to eachother on tables, or chained to the rack. Dont know if I never noticed it before or if it was new but I dont want to shop at a store that requires me to request a key everytime I want to try on a shirt. This is not normal.

I took pictures because I thought it was so crazy. Ill try post them later. Anyone ever seen this before. I mean it makes shopping in these stores feel gross. If this becomes the norm I am sure ill abandon shopping there.
