House move going ahead as there is no chain, the conveyancer works from a remote model anyway and the survey was done before restrictions. We have permission to move from the Manx government so we can go and we should finalise within the next month on the sale. Will be living with my parents for a bit but they have a huge house and loads of space so it should be a fairly smooth transition. We can then look at buying a place once things have eased off a bit but no pressure really.

That's really good news. Congratulations! Milk that in-house babysitting for all it is worth, even if your are the only one allowed to go out for work.

A bit of rain just starting.

We got the ground works all sorted for the driving range this morning.

Was 3/4 days solid work gathering stones, levelling and all the rest but a wee bit of rain now then the forecast sun holding and it couldn't have worked out better!

Yup I plan to! Mrs Tiste and I have a list of post lockdown stuff to do and most of it is "eat here cos mum can look after Zach!"

Movers have taken our stuff, the car is packed and we're ready to go tomorrow!

Well if that's towards me my lockdown is easy, I live on a farm and that work doesn't stop. Just my electrical work has stopped.

It would appear I'm getting a modest tax return this year.

Gonna use it this summer to pick up a newer unlocked BlackBerry, before the manufacturing license runs out in Aug.

Solid bike ride today. Checked out a park I've been meaning to for ages, took some trail and ended up on a service road beside a highway. Had to take switchback paths through a field to get back to the streets. Almost 2 hours in the saddle overall.

Good thing, too, since next week we're supposed to be back to plus 10 for the whole week, :(

Same old, same old. We're doing a re-read currently if that interests you. And a frightening amount of forum members have children now a days.

Is that happening elsethread? I wouldn't mind checking that out.

And kids are awesome. And irrevocable. And a pain in the ass.

Fitted the windows and door in the workshop this evening. Now I can batter on an finish the framework inside.

Also got a load of work done in the garden the last two days.

Exhausted, but happy to see progress finally.

Also, patches of green appearing on the driving range!

Because there is no sport on and we got Disney+ in desperation I'm doing quite a good job of inflicting my geekery onto the other half. Got him finally finishing The Avengers and Star Wars. Weighing up fighting for The Mandalorian or gracefully capitulating to the latest series of Better Call Saul.

Also someone switched my kid for an identical one who loves daddy more than mummy and it is like having a holiday! Waking up to the sound of him in someone else's face asking if it is time to get up is the sweetest sound I ever heard. I hope I haven't jinxed it.

used a portion of my tax refund to order a boxed set of Futurama DVDs.

I blame the lockdown.

Random Lurker here
I normally dont post often at all. I lurk from time to time, less so recently because life. But a few years back i posted that I got into med school, because of the COVID stuff we got graduated early and its now Dr!
Currently working too :D
I spent quite some time on the forums reading when the revision became too mind numbing. I thought it would be nice to post the conclusion the forum was quite a nice place for breaks from all the other stuff at times just wanted to show my appreciation, thank you!
