I started watching the CW's THE OUTPOST randomly...it's bad.

It's funny that i knew this just from reading the episode blurbs on io9.

It took about 90 seconds of a random episode to confirm and i never looked back.

Quote

The CGI is bad. The green screens are bad. The acting is about 50% bad or OTT. The budget is like a shoestrings shoestring. It's entirely bloodless, but the fight choreography is weak to boot so even the fight scenes feel terribly done.

But inexplicably (and I highly doubt it's just because Jessica Green is a smokeshow) I'm enjoying it? I can't even remotely explain it. I have nothing but bad things to say about it....but I'm still enjoying it.

I feel weird and dirty.

Stop. Just stop. You don't have to do this to yourself. You have Netflix. There are options on hand. It's not too late.

Hey man, I can't help that it's enjoyable, despite being utter dreck. LOL

I was really starting to wonder how you could not have gotten back to it by now. At least its not that you find BACHELORETTE ON HOT PARADISE ISLAND to be better in your mind...

I got as far as the first two episodes and boy(s), they were fucking great. Can't believe that's already a quarter of the season.

Finished Good Omens finally. I won't muck up the ded-thread for fans, but I didn't like it at all. Real bummer cuz I went in expecting joy. Reminded me of You Me & the Apocalypse from a few years back, in tone and quality. A real turkey.

I think so yes.

I'm watching The Boys now, and it's pretty good. I'm enjoying it immensely. I'm also very bad at reviewing stuff.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

I'm about halfway through. They've kept to the spirit of the comics while changing a LOT around - including timelines of major events. Still seems to work so far though.

It's getting a season 2 though. :)

I can't embed it (YT's new algorithm for videos includes a "cwn" portion in the location that seems to disallow it...fuckers) but here is the trailer for season 2 of Amazon's JACK RYAN! Oh man, can't wait!

HERE YOU GO.

Big Little Lies.

Well, I'm not sure where the show was trying to go at times this second season. There were a lot of 'ancillary' goings on in each of the "Monterey Five's" personal lives that just didn't really pay off. The show seemed like it was interjecting comedy at times that just seemed out of place. To that end though, Laura Dern's character was pretty amazing at times. But for nothing else, it requires viewing just to watch Meryl Streep's performance. Her character's roasting of members of the Monterey Five is just too rich and satisfying to pass up.

Just watched the season finale of 'The Boys'. Whew! Very different from the graphic novel but quite enjoyable.

That end scene, with the Santo and Johnny original of 'Sleepwalk' in the background, quite the "Whoa!" moment.

Cannot wait for Season 2. :)

I'm going to dive into THE BOYS after I finish THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY (which is excellent, and I'm nearly done)...becuase my wife has no interest in THE BOYS...the upside of that is that I can bash through it faster because it won't be relegated to the 2hours of Co-TV time we have every night b after the kids go to bed. Glad to hear it's good throughout!

MY wife and I finally finished Person of Interest. Wow! I was a little ambivalent about the show in the first season, but by season 3 or 4 I was really hooked. Now we are in search of new show to watch together.

I'm 5 episodes into The Boys. It's really good. I never read the comics and I'm having fun trying to guess what is going to happen next.

I'm also on to season 2 of The Grand Tour. I can't believe Hammond crashed another car...

Watched the first season of Big Little Lies with the GF while we were sick. We both really enjoyed it (the show, not being sick), but kind of question whether a second season is going to be worth it.

It’s fine...but not a scratch on s1...and there was some problematic behind the scenes meddling to boot. Meryl Streep made it worth it for us...but S1 is much better.

I started and finished Killing Eve. It's good but it annoyed me.

Catching up on Gotham. Also annoying me.

I'm toying with the idea of starting Fleabag but I think it might annoy me.

I can't quite put my finger on it but I think I'm beginning to detect a pattern here ...
