nah.. it was supposed to be bigger than anything ever seen before. Bigger than the fall of the Crippled God, the chainings, the First Empire soletaken ritual, the Kallorian Empire, etc... In Lether the only thing that happened was that Rulad got his arm (and then head chopped off). Also, Mappo has a part to play. She was certain of that.
Could be Icarium has already started it though.

I think its logical to assume that the series is heading towards what'll be one of the biggest convergences in wu history (thats basically one of the ways I view the series as a whole actually, a record of the events that lead up to one of the biggest events ever on wu), so its a bit hard to tell if Spite was regerring to the one that occured in Lether or to a future one. Icariums part in it having started seems likely with his actions at the end of RG.
Either way I think TtH should by the end clue us in a fair deal on how the players are all going to be related when everything really does go down in the last 2 books.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did it say somewhere on this forum, that SE had said somewhere, that he had included an extra storyline along the main storyline (which is the Crippled God of course)? Could Icarium be that extra disparate storyline, giving us a momentous convergence in the end of TtH that does not necessarily have a devastating impact on the whole Crippled God theme?

I'm sure I read somewhere that the last 2 books were essentially back to back novels for the climax of things. So I figured we'd probably have a reasonable portion of players approaching their various locations for the finale of things in the big convergence.

yeah that wouldn't make sense because Mappo was in no way involved.
My feeling is that by the end of TtH, we will have at least 3 huge convergences. The end of TtH will maybe see the Genabackis convergence happen....which will involve Mappo and Icarium being reunited I think.
The second and third convergences will of course be The Lether one and of course whatever happens in The Crippled God.

There are so many candidates for that extra storyline...
Heboric and the Jade Giants come to mind, as do the Just Wars between the Liosan and the Forkrul Assail, as does Icarium, the whole deal with the Nameless Ones, Dessimbelackis's tale, etc

Very true... At first I thought it was Karsa Orlong, but now it just seems it could be anything.
The Jade giants appear to be linked with the Crippled God storyline though. All those souls looking for their lost god (maybe I remember this wrong) are alien, as is the Chained One. I think we can rule out Heboric.

He didn't say what it was best for. It might be the best American cover for toilet paper, you never thought of that, did you, eh? You see if the cover was that bad/incredibly worse than the rest, no one would have any regrets about using it in this manner therefore we demand to know what "better" means in this context!
