Kallor

I can really see a fight between Kallor and Karsa happening.
Kallor " You are the knight of Chains, but I am the King. Bow before the King of Chains."
Karsa " Toblakai bow before no one."
Then right as Karsa is about to kill Kallor, Calm intervenes.

Actually, Karsa has had way too many high points. I think that if he faces Kallor, SE will finally teach him humility.

I don't know... I really dislike Kallor (although his character is intriguing. Near immortal evil despot who destroyed a continent), and I would love for Karsa to scream, "WITNESS!" And cut him into pieces.
And if Calm shows up, that'd be an interesting battle... but Karsa would be able to put a notch in the belt for "Evil Despot" and "Forkrul Assail"

I agree that Kallor probably doesn't have access to the magic of a matron but that doesn't necessarily mean he has nothing to do with the return of the K'chain Nah'ruk.
As pointed out earlier in this thread Kallor seems to have a lot of the KCCM, including their mechanisms. Perhaps he has found something (a device or whathaveyou) and is drawing the K'chain Nah'ruk back to Wu.
One of the things that caught my eye in RG was someone (dont remember who) refers to the Edur empire as merely one of multiple empires under the CG's sway. To me the others are most likely the Teblor as Karsa is about to take control of them and perhaps Kallor is rebuilding his empire somewhere else (such as Jacuruku or the wilds of the Lether continent) and it is related to the KCCM

Okay, this might be me just imagining, but isn't Kallor supposed to not be able to use magic. At all?

The argument is usually that Kallor destroyed his empire with KCCM technology uncovered by his archaeologists, not KCCM magic.

It was the Empress Jannal speaking to Concubine Nissal
Quote
I thought he just went through the portal Withal came out of.
The CG opened a portal to the Lordaeron Plateau on Genebackis and told Karsa to take the sword there and lead his people. Karsa said screw the sword but went through nontheless.

Calm intervening in a fight between Kallor and Karsa is something I would love to see. However, I think one too many of us are granting that particular Forkrul Assail prescience of mind. Yes, it's true that she saw into the future a time when she would come face-to-face with Karsa again, and yes, she did kick the shit out of him the first time.
However, I want to be the first to say that even if Bairoth Delum stands down and cannot help Karsa in a fight versus Calm, I believe that the lovable old Teblor would win. He has been through far too much now for me to believe he can be so easily relegated to the loser's circle. After all, the Hounds were only one of several times he has fought without the aids of his sword. Good god, i cannot wait to return to Genebackis.

He has grown considderably since his first encounter with the FA. I think that Karsa would kick the living crap out of her now givin the opportunity

Maybe but not entirely sure. Would be a good twist if Calm actually stoo against the Teblor Horde.
And as for another army possibly the KCCM. Reckon thats his real hand

Very interesting discussions on Kallor, KCCM and KCNR.
Just realized that in terms of so far unrealized menace Kallor = Grand Moff Tarkin
I should first mention that I'm a sucker for the evil genius character type.
My thought is that:
It's mentioned that the Kallorian Empire arose almost simultaneously to (but after) the First Empire. And the intro of MoI does give tribute to Kallor's prowess, strategic and martial. I would agree that he's a totally mundane character unable to wield magic innately.
I would reason that the reason no one takes him seriously is due to the Elder curse(s) inflicted:
a) Mortal w/ life unending
Never ascend
c) all accomplishments = all dust, no success - and I'd interpret this to include his value in the eyes of others, as he craves control and has such boundless ambition.
The reason he nevers seems eager to fight with anyone who could potentially kill him (CB, AR, even WhiskeyJack as K finds out) is due to his desire to not risk his life (a) (he admits as much when we have the scene of him being recruited as High King of Chains in MoI) as he seeks a way to get around the issue of (
.
For ©, in MoI, even as Kallor details wondrous drops of the KCCM and KNM, every one basically tells him to shut up.
Does anyone have any idea how Kallor could be High King of Chains when in BH, Fiddler's Deck of Dragons game puts the CG as the King in Chains. Did the CG double-cross Kallor already? Or is this a case of SE's endearing habit of writing around things he's established in other places?
Also - if the CG was called down in an attempt to destroy Kallor (which again is testament to how much, at one time, he kicked ass) is there some kind of existing relationship between Kallor and the CG?
I hope he makes a reappearance in TTH.

in BH the King in Chains is Rhulad, not Kallor. Kallor is the Reaper.

What the CG promises and what you get seem to generally be two very different things.
- Abyss, notes the CG is like Red Lobster that way.

I agree there. Kallor seems to have a Cassandra complex: always heard, but never listened to. The fact he was so disdained and underestimated is, IMO, what made him dangerous in MOI. Everyone took it for granted that one day Kallor would turn against them, and yet when it finally happened it still caught everyone by surprise at the time they could least afford it. True, Kallor was a long-winded, arrogant ass, and seen as a joke in Brood's campaign -- but dismissing him based on those factors cost Whiskeyjack his life.
Speaking of the curses, I thought this one from K'rul was kinda interesting in its detail:
Know this: you, Kallor Eiderann Tes’thesula, shall know mortal life unending. Mortal, in the ravages of age, in the pain of wounds and the anguish of despair. In dreams brought to ruin. In love withered. In the shadow of Death’s spectre, ever a threat to end what you will not relinquish.
So . . . who did Kallor love?
(BTW, Abyss -- what, are you too sexy for email now?)

Actually, as i read that, Krul is cursing Kallor so that his penis shrivels up.
- Abyss, is too sexy for ALL forms of electronica.

If you're going to use it to badger me for a month to finish RG the least you can do is acknowledge the email that's about three pages of continuous "OH MY GOD DID ____".

Hee. I kinda think that has to be happening as we speak. Or maybe the fact that he has the Endymion-type longevity with no youth, so he gets to both outlast his lovers and also become decrepit? . . . okay, so maybe Abyss' assessment carries weight too. -.-

I personally think that 'in love withered' is a general thing rather than a specific one. All that Kallor will and has come to love will wither and leave him. I think it starts to border on you shall have no happiness left, all you shall know is hate but even that hate cannot be transferred into anything constructive that will not fall to dust. So a binding circle of types.
Just my take on the situation however, there are many outcomes.

Firstly, anyone who interrupts RG to read Harry Potter deserves to be badgered, and by that i mean beaten to a red mushy pulp by starving rabid badgers slow-dropped down the gravity well from orbit.
Secondly, in the MoI prologue, Kallor doesn't exactly come across as the loving type, even before his curse-driven semi-immortality, which really does leave open the question of whether Krul was speaking figuratively, or there's a secret of Kallor's past we have yet to read.
- Abyss, mostly just thinks it's about his penis shrivelling.
