Twelve, I thought for sure you would switch your votes over to Tapper and beat me to the Letnev Trade Agreement which Tapper promised for 3rd most votes.

I didnt even know that was a thing. Was wondering about the overkill on votes for the other objective. Was thinking surely the board wouldnt let D'rek get her way on yet something else and people throw votes my way once it was clear no one was contesting Tapper.

This is why you might have asked Tapper for some votes, as he had sown up the other agenda.

This is why I asked Tapper not to ^_^

That's true, he did say he wouldn't - but he should have extracted more from you for that promise :p

At the time, it seemed like there could/would be some genuine competition to him for Policy. And he ended up getting 16 votes from me rather than 10, so I think it was a good play. Didn't make much difference in the end, but that's usually how the agenda phase goes - after everyone makes the deals it becomes obvious who isn't going to win some votes so switches happen and it becomes a landslide.

I didn't understand why you were at first promising only 10 votes when you couldn't actually vote on the first agenda. What were you saving the other 6 votes for?

Besides, why would Tapper not want me to get Industry? If Twelve keeps throwing ships at me it probably leaves Accoen/Jeol and/or Vega relatively undefended if he wants to grab them.

You never know! Maybe Twelve switches and wants to compete with Tapper on Minister of Policy and I get a bidding war over the last 6 votes that will decide the outcome!

Drek I'll swap it for your trade PN

I don't think it's worth that much. Twelve can deactivate his systems after all.

But it'll cost him to do so.

Sure, but he's been plenty willing to pay that cost so far (and IH has been happy to feed him what he needs to do it). So the card doesn't really get me the same benefit as other ceasefires, it just delays him 1 turn and makes him spend 3 TG/influence more (or none if he took Warfare). Which is good... just not as good as the usual effect of a ceasefire. Making Twelve pay 3TG/influence isn't worth me giving up 6TG from my trade agreement.

@Tatts, been thinking about other possibilities to make this trade viable... I was thinking if Twelve's ceasefire makes him spend 3 TG, you were valuing Cybernetic Enhancements to IH at 1 TG earlier, and relic fragments have been going for 2 TG so far this game, so those 3 together would add up to equal value to my trade agreement.

BUT the problem is I think I just plain can't give away my trade agreement this round - without it I've only got 9 resources to spend all round, and while that's probably enough to defend Ixth from Twelve (if I forego tech), it definitely isn't enough to do both that and (desperately try to) defend my homeworld against IH's war sun.

So then I thought about other options on my side...

What do you think of Twelve's ceasefire + Cybernetic Enhancements + your relic fragment in exchange for my Support for the Throne?

Tatts if you were ever going to make up for all the previous times you've wrecked my game you can go a long way by not selling my ceasefire to D'rek. At least not until after I get my homeworld back.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

D'rek here is a third option. You vacate Ixth and never come back. Then you can do all those other things you want to do.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

If having your ceasefire played is so upsetting, why would you give it away in the first place? Even while you're playing the one faction in the game that gets to overcome it!

Not so long ago you were going to wipe out my warsun? When did this become a desperate defence?

I was talking a big game back when I thought Tatts was going to plop your homeworld end of last round... now I am scared.

Could I summon enough forces to take down the war sun and its fighter screen by the end of this round? Sure... if it doesn't move, and doesn't get reinforced. But what are the odds you don't use your agent to plop down 2 dreads next to it turn 1 with your agent. Especially since you still have that wonderful 6-resource Muaat to spend.

But hey, nothing is certain, maybe Khell will eat it. Stranger things have happened.

I have to say, twelve. I am confused as to how you believe I have attacked you this game. You have attacked me, I have yet to activate a system of yours or break a deal with you

I think it might boil down to the pre-game statement that he considered Everra part of his slice?
