Just watched ep 7 NEPENTHE.

Ahhhhhh THE FEELS.

I thought the season as a whole was alright, and gradually declined in quality as it went on. The first few episodes, before he sets off for space, when the show was almost a government conspiracy thriller, were the most gripping for me, while the second half of the show was very standard Trek sci-fi, with characters popping in and out (both in terms of location and motivation) as and when they needed to with no real logical narrative flow.

I’m happy others here enjoyed it a lot, I had just been hoping they’d be going down a different route.

So, all in all thought it was a very good finale and I have genuinely loved the series.

Picard dying is not something I was emotionally prepared for even though I was convinced it wouldn't stick. Particularly with the reactions of the others (particularly Raffi/Elnor).

The conversation with Data.... wept all over the place. It was beautiful. Stewart played the scene of turning off Data's consciousness pitch perfectly too.

I punched the air and nearly jumped off the sofa when Riker appeared as the captain of the Starfleet flag ship. I never knew how much I needed Captain Will Riker in my life.

I appreciated the nod to the fact Picard won't have an unnaturally extended lifespan. There series is still to a point self-limiting.

Some slight negatives:

Even though it felt right that Seven be the one to kill Narissa, she felt like a bit of a wasted pantomime villain to me and so it lacked weight.

Narek's whole character flip flopping about has been one of the weaknesses in the series throughout, so no improvement there.

The ending seemed to push for a narrative logic that the show itself than ignored. I’m confused

I loved the finale, and the season as a whole.

I liked that much of what happened at the end had been set up earlier (like Riker's conversation with Picard about his Starfleet status), even if some of it was quite heavy-handed (the golem)

Aggie saying 'make it so'

Had to laugh at Rios and the football - Santiago showing his sporting past, lol

Frakes delivered his lines with such relish. He needs to be in season 2!

Picard saying 'adieu' after signing off with Riker. The whole post-'death' sequence - although it did seem odd that they didn't show the rest of the crew's reactions when Picard returned.

On the negative side, the fight between Seven and Narissa lacked any form of peril or tension and seemed to end far too quickly/easily.

I don't think Treadaway is a particularly good actor. Narek might have worked better with someone else in the role.

Watched the last two EPs.

The ending was phoned in for the whole episode, still an excellent finale.

Riker part was ace.

I quite enjoyed the season! Though I will agree with the up-thread comment that the ending seemed rushed, especially given the slow start to the series. The ending was a little bit of an odd fit, but I don't want to write anything since I don't remember how to use spoiler tags...

Finished, enjoyed.

I have never been a hard core Trek fan. I was entertained, not bored, surprised at least a little a few times, I'll take that.

Loved the ship, loved the small crew as a concept... Jurati was mostly annoying, Romulan ninja guy was silly, verging on unnecessary, but I liked everyone else and it was fun to see 7o9 again.

Am onboard for S2.

YES! He was on the panel with Wil and Stewart and he looks amazing for his age. I CANNOT wait to see these two acting together again as these characters. This also explains another reason why Stewart personally asked Whoopi to reprise Guinan in S2....Q was TERRIFIED of Guinan.
