I think that's the meet up after I moved back to Norway. I have, despite living a short plane ride away, never actually met Tapper. Which is a shame, he's one of my favourite forumers.

Is subway worth going to? I have a buy one get one coupon. Do they cook the sandwich? I prefer my food hot.

What breakfast cereals are worth trying?

You seem to be making a tour of the least interesting food places possible in the largest city in the country.

Get a different cereal each time. You'll learn what you like and what you absolutely hate.

I don’t think I can afford the more interesting places but I’m open to suggestions. Whisperz took me to Ribalta, I have been to robertas. The corner bistro is highly overrated.

Subway is ok for a fast sandwich place. They toast they’re sandwiches also, so yes they’re hot. I’m partial to the sweet onion chicken teriyaki with banana peppers.

Raisin Bran Crunch is my favorite. Honey Nut Cheerios is always solid.

Yeah he came out the year after you went back. That was a good meet up. I think we did one more maybe in 2012. At the bad apple I believe.

Living in NYC, the epicenter for delicatessens, Subway (the shitty sandwich chain) should be no way near a consideration. It shouldn't even be in this galaxy of awareness of crappy fast food chains.

Fun fact: Subway sandwiches include yoga mats as an ingredient. True. Look it up.

Find a great food truck congregation and get silly. Go find a Meatball Shop or go to Eataly. Eat Indian food in Little India. Find a taqueria that really works. There's a bunch of affordable options that aren't Subway.

I did pay what I considered an insane 14 dollars or something for a corned beef sandwich at a place I wish I could remember it’s name. Anyway it was heaven on bread and the size of my face. All in all a good experience. Was a sort of semi famous place in Chappaqua I was told.

Otherwise there are tons of these deli places near where I live but none look great. I find it fascinating how so much of New York or at least Brooklyn looks so run down. Nothing wrong with what they sell, stock, make or the haircuts but the store will look shabby

Go on Yelp and search up the best food trucks and bodegas near you.

Landlords in NYC have no real incentive to care for their buildings. The property is usually worth so much that they'll be able to run it into the ground, sell for huge prices to someone who knocks the building down then builds luxury condos that stay empty most of the year. It's a problem that many major cities have.

What food trucks have you found that are good in NYC? In my experience, it's not a food truck city, unlike Portland or Austin. I've found like one good taco truck. The licensing process is too onerous.

Maybe they're mostly outside of Manhattan.

I've eaten at Smorgasburg and had great times. Portland and Austin have the best food truck scenes in the country, but that doesn't mean Brooklyn is by default terrible. You're right that Manhattan is tough for it bc parking is an issue.

What's so hard?

1. How much money did you make this year?
2. How much do you have left?
3. Send '2.'.
