Getting more serious, I was looking at my lifes collection of clothes and stuff and things. How on earth will I pack it all in 2 * 23 Kg and one 13 Kg carry on. I read somewhere that if you get a one way ticket you can maybe get extra luggage allowance. 160 dollars for an extra 23 Kg.

Some things are expensive enough that they are probably worth shipping (My PC). Some things are probably worth selling and just rebuying in the states(My PS4). I'm not a big clothes or shoes guy but still one pair gym, formal, casual and boots suddenly take up a hell of a lot of space. Most clothes are not a problem but I have 2 not inconsiderably warm and large jackets that I love which will be a problem.

I must find out what cheaper options for shipping exist. I suppose I can also have family or friends bring me some things each time they visit. I really don't have a lot of stuff but when you contemplate moving it all you realise how much it is.

I will also now be kind of stuck. Cant really make any big purchases or make any big decisions until I know where I will be in a years time.

Yeah it is 200 if you are over the weight limit of 50 pounds, an extra bag is 35 - 60 depending on airline. Thus 160 has no value.

Spanish seems like a nice language to learn. Same alphabet, many similar words. Similar sentence structure. Much better than Japanese.

Re cross border travel.... check and recheck, and bring all your docs with you, have copies on your phone. Getting out is easy, getting back in, can go any which way.

Relatedly, do not have anything on your phone or other device you are not 100% ok with a border officer looking at. Or otherwise in your possession. No form of guns, drugs, porn. Just don’t.

That said once you're there, visit Canada.
