Deeper dive on the Fred Savage accusations.

I'll be really honest, much of this sounds suspiciously like undiagnosed/untreated BiPolar or BPD....the switch flips, the eyes going dead. ect.

Ned Stark (née Sean Bean) got a little rub his way too. Nothing that serious really, but people need that outrage fix and so his view of intimacy coordinators and the blow back is now making the rounds.

I think they are needed in this day and age because what would have been NC-17 or possibly the damning X-rated designation like 20+ years ago is pretty common place now. The merkin industry has really flourished as peak television has ascended.

Arcade Fire frontman:

'Their status as an earnest family band is part of their appeal, along with songs that reflect on love, lost innocence, and the search for something real to hang onto in uneasy times [...] generally regarded as a feel-good band with a feel-good story.

[...] Three women made allegations of sexual interactions with Butler that they came to feel were inappropriate given the gaps in age, power dynamics, and context in which they occurred.

A fourth person, who is gender-fluid and uses they/them pronouns, claims that Butler sexually assaulted them twice in 2015[...]

[...] claimed that Butler stuck his hands into their pants without consent while driving them home after the meal. When Lily expressed discomfort, they say, Butler eventually removed his hand and dropped them off at home.

Butler claims that he only put his hand on Lily's inner thigh, and that Lily "looked me in the eyes and said 'not in the car' in a way that seemed flirtatious." Responding to Butler's account, Lily said it was possible that he touched them through their pants rather than putting his hand inside, but maintained that it was a "very aggressive" touching of their crotch, not their inner thigh, and that their response was not flirtatious. [...]

According to Lily, Butler showed up at their apartment [...] after he texted asking to come over and Lily repeatedly told him not to. [...]

"I opened my door and he pinned me up against the wall and was aggressively grabbing my body and sticking his tongue down my throat," Lily said. "It was an attempt to be sexy, and it was so not OK in the context." However, Butler's statement reads, "When [Lily] opened the door we started kissing immediately…I don't remember who initiated it but it was definitely mutual."

According to Lily, they asked Butler to leave and he refused. "Eventually he pulled me onto his lap on my couch. I don't know if he was holding me by the waist or what, but I was physically constrained by him as he was putting his hand down my pants. At some point he tried to go down on me," they said. They claim they told him again to leave. "The anger and the power in my voice surprised me," they said. "I will never forget it." Butler got up at that point, Lily claims, and began berating them for denying his advances.

After Butler left, Lily texted him to apologize for rejecting his advances. "He thought my behavior was weird, so maybe it was actually me in the wrong," [...]

Butler responded to the apology by telling them it was OK, Lily said, and they never spoke or saw each other after that. After several months, Lily came to view the incidents in the car and their apartment as sexual assaults.

[...] In 2020, amid a wave of sexual assault allegations across the Montreal arts and culture scene, Lily quit a job in the music industry.

[...] "Sexual predator—from when I was an 18-year-old fan girl, he would constantly try to coerce me into sexual encounters and sending nude photos of myself and sending unsolicited nude pictures of himself after I repeatedly told him I was not interested."'

Was that Johnny Depp appearance at the MTV VMAs in bad taste? It doesn't bother me all that much, but I understand the other side.

Unfortunately. The last great one was 1996 days before Tu Pac got killed.

1997 was cool to with Puff Daddy after Notorious died.

Jesus I just had a memory chain kick off thinking about that stuff.

'The Geoffrey Chaucer News That Rocked Academia This Week

Scholars have long used rape allegations against Chaucer to spice up their biographies. [...]

[...] Cecily Chaumpaigne released one "Galfridus Chaucer" of all legal consequences "de meo raptu." Or, as the Latin phrase translates in English, she released him of charges "concerning my rape." [...]

A year before the Chaumpaigne "raptus" release was filed with the courts, Sobecki and Roger learned, Chaucer and Chaumpaigne had served as co-defendants in a lawsuit brought against them [...] under [...] a post–Black Death piece of legislation that restricted the free circulation and bargaining power of English workers[...] the lawyers whom Chaucer had hired to represent him in that case were the same lawyers who represented Chaumpaigne in the release. In other words, Roger and Sobecki suggest, Chaucer and Chaumpaigne should be seen as legal allies rather than antagonists, and the word raptus likely referred not to sexual assault, but to the unlicensed transfer of Chaumpaigne as a servant, from Staundon's household to that of Chaucer.

[...] So perhaps the historical Geoffrey Chaucer was not a rapist; perhaps, according to this new discovery, he simply made some unwise hiring decisions that landed him in legal jeopardy. Or perhaps (reading the poems closely suggests) he was a rapist—if not of Chaumpaigne, then of some other woman. I am comfortable allowing some ambiguity to a man dead 600. But to his critics—no. For while Geoffrey Chaucer might not have been a rapist, "Father Chaucer" was made into one in the imaginations of his literary sons. This history will not be unmade, whatever Chaucer scholars might have wished, whatever discoveries still await us in the archives. For it is not the story of medieval men but of modern ones, not of medieval privilege and entitlement but of their modern descendants. Chaucer is past accountability now, but Chaucer studies is not.'

Chaucer rape allegations: What the newly found British National Archives document tells us about this old story

I wish that more than 1 of the counts stuck. We also have to wait and see how they decide to sentence him after "aggravating factors" are discussed as well. I'm hopeful he'll never see another day outside of prison, but that hope is quite wary at the moment.

Not to “well actually” anyone, but just so we’re all on the same page, Weinstein is already serving a 23 year sentence for a previous set of convictions. This more recent case was for an entirely separate slew of assaults and rapes he did, and it kinda goes to show the length and far-reaching breadth of his brutality. My state’s First Lady was herself a victim/survivor of him and testified against him at this trial.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Yeah, I was in a bit of a rush earlier and somehow forgot that he'd already been convicted. It's been kind of a long few years, ok?

I just wish we lived in a world where he was was convicted on every count cause he deserves every single one of them to officially be attached to his sentence.

I getcha, just wanted to affirm that he will almost certainly die before he’s released.

Is that the sequel to "Love Actually"?

But yes, glad he's accumulating what he deserves.

Hopefully he rots in prison for eternity.

The actual sequence of events was even funnier.

"Oi Greta Thunberg, check out all my high polluting cars topkek roflpwned leftist I await your reply"
"Hello Andrew, you have a small willy"
"WELL ACKSHUALLY" and then doxxes that he's in Romania by way of a fucking pizza box

And then gets arrested. Let's hope he goes away for a long ass time.

Wasn’t it well know he lived in Romania?

Did he seriously get arrested because of the pizza box!

Small duck energy indeed.

He was frequently traveling out of the country. I'd assumed he was taking advantage of the EU's open border policy, but that only applies to Schengen Area countries, and Romania's bid to join this year was blocked. Hopefully he's wrong about being able to get away with rape in Romania.

For any who missed it, here's the viral Twitter exchange and his pathetic initial response:

Why are they wearing balaclavas? To avoid retaliation? I hope Tate's followers don't try to physically attack Greta. (He tells men to literally beat women with machetes....)

Wonder if it's a coincidence Romanian authorities only acted after the US Embassy got involved. And if Tate really did return to Romania while police were looking for him, why didn't they stop him as he entered? Did he cross without authorities noticing, or did he bribe someone?...
