Are there going to be lens flares in s3? They've been counted and compiled somewhere, yeah? If at least a baker's dozen isn't confirmed, then nope, I'm out.

It's fucking brilliant if this is the plan.

I can't do that. I just can't. I need to see it all but I'm grateful for the heads up that it gets better.

I've recently been re-watching DISCO S1...after having ADORED S2 and looking fwd to S3 coming in Oct. I decided to give it another chance with fresh eyes that have been adjusted to what DISCO is... and I would like to rescind my original comment to you Tiste.

Season 1 is actually very good. It has some stumbles, and some weird choices narratively (things rectified in S2 with new showrunners) but there is a LOT to like here, and in retrospect I was way too harsh on it even a few weeks back. In fact I'm enjoying it a great deal more now.

Season 3 starts today! I have to wait till it drops on Crave tomorrow, but a day is not too bad.

My friend who works in the film/TV industry made me jealous by posting pics today with her and Sonequa Martin-Green hanging out and taking selfies on set (she's been doing BTS stuff on DISCO since S1, but this is the first time I've seen photo evidence of her on set time).

Can't wait!

No! Star Fleet uniform. I'm guessing they're filming flashbacks to pre-Battle of the Binary Stars days.

I feel like this is where the show always wanted to get to, or just should have started. Star Trek free of baggage. I’ll never understood why they did a prequel which locked them into so much cannon which they pretty much ignored anyway though.

Question is will this be Star Trek though or just very advanced sci fi

It might be a bit unfair to say this but I also got strong, commander shepherd you must rebuild the alliance before the reapers invade vines

I am actually with Steve Shives on this. I like Star Trek canon, but I do not care if showrunners simply ignore it if it gets in the way of telling a good story.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Long before Commander Shepherd was even a wet dream in some gamers head...Gene Roddenberrys other show was Andromeda...which is pretty much this. So if it’s cribbing from anything, it’s that.

And it’s Star Trek if that name is on the label.

Good point about andromeda. The reason I say it was unfair was because it’s only episode and who knows how it will play out. I just hope we
Don’t end up with the discovery journing to the government of one planet after another and getting them to agree to sign the federation charter again.

DISCO has never really done that kind of storyline, so I doubt they'll start now.

Agreed, we have already seen that in Andromeda Ascendant. A show I...sorta...liked? I mean, it would have been served with less Kevin Sorbo and...well, that.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

So only on episode 5 of season 1 but I'm glad I'm watching. Harry Mudd appeared! Rainn Wilson is definitely the right guy for the role.

Wasn't a big fan of the portrayal. Mudd in TOS was a rogue but mostly harmless. Mudd in Discovery is a sociopath.
