Might start watching this as they've just introduced the Discovery world to the Star Trek Fleet Command game.

Start with season 2, and wiki season 1...season 2 is leaps and bounds better than s1. Completely different show runners and writers took over in s2.

I can't do that. I just can't. I need to see it all but I'm grateful for the heads up that it gets better.

I thought series 1 had plenty of good points - and it's worth watching for Jason Isaacs chewing the scenery as Captain Lorca at the very least (seem to remember Mez and I had similar rather specific feelings about Lorca!)

I would agree series 2 was much stronger though, so worth sticking it out if you're not sold on the first series.

I agree that there is parts of S1 that are worthy, and yeah Jason Isaacs is great as usual. It was just hard to stomach lots of it for me.

Series 2 got rid of all the issues I had with the series in S1, including even minor aesthetic stuff...and then S2 finale is literally mind blowing.

and spoilers for S3

Are there going to be lens flares in s3? They've been counted and compiled somewhere, yeah? If at least a baker's dozen isn't confirmed, then nope, I'm out.

I've recently been re-watching DISCO S1...after having ADORED S2 and looking fwd to S3 coming in Oct. I decided to give it another chance with fresh eyes that have been adjusted to what DISCO is... and I would like to rescind my original comment to you Tiste.

Season 1 is actually very good. It has some stumbles, and some weird choices narratively (things rectified in S2 with new showrunners) but there is a LOT to like here, and in retrospect I was way too harsh on it even a few weeks back. In fact I'm enjoying it a great deal more now.

Season 3 starts today! I have to wait till it drops on Crave tomorrow, but a day is not too bad.

My friend who works in the film/TV industry made me jealous by posting pics today with her and Sonequa Martin-Green hanging out and taking selfies on set (she's been doing BTS stuff on DISCO since S1, but this is the first time I've seen photo evidence of her on set time).

Can't wait!

No! Star Fleet uniform. I'm guessing they're filming flashbacks to pre-Battle of the Binary Stars days.

Man I wish I could watch this and Picard. Ugh

Getting my fix on with Enterprise on Netflix. On S2. It’s gotten better and better and it does a great job of rolling on much like late season Voyager with ongoing things while still doing issue of the week.

I feel like this is where the show always wanted to get to, or just should have started. Star Trek free of baggage. I’ll never understood why they did a prequel which locked them into so much cannon which they pretty much ignored anyway though.

Question is will this be Star Trek though or just very advanced sci fi

It might be a bit unfair to say this but I also got strong, commander shepherd you must rebuild the alliance before the reapers invade vines

I am actually with Steve Shives on this. I like Star Trek canon, but I do not care if showrunners simply ignore it if it gets in the way of telling a good story.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!
