Charlie Stross was wrong in using the island of Britain as the setting for his books. He was so close and should of looked for a smaller Isle to the left.

Farage hit by a milkshake again. Some are saying it's a publicity stunt which makes sense as it roles up his gammony fascismos who hang on his every word.

"Every day is Rishi Sunak's personal Four Seasons Total Landscaping."

"Sunak is making Ed Davey looking statesmanlike and he's spent all week on a bouncy castle."

"Sunak had pressing matters that sadly meant he had to leave early."
"Yes, because famously Zelensky, who stayed for the whole ceremony, hasn't got anything else going on."

After talking a lot about the 1997 landslide victory for Labour, people today have raised the spectre of the 1993 Canadian election where the governing Conservative Party blundered through a series of ludicrous scandals, each more devastating than the last, and ended up retaining a grand total of 2 (two) seats.

Even if it's not intentional I wonder if Sunak will turn around after the election and say it was all intentional.

"To turn every Thus it was into a Thus I willed it."

Then he can try to sell the movie rights... nah, probably not.

A big part of me wants a total Conservative collapse because even if it means Reform MPs, I reckon they will have come from such a wild pool of people, the scandals will roll out thick and fast post-election. They will get caught out saying egregious things or taking money from the wrong people.

But then I look to the Republicans and Trump and Marjorie Taylor Green types and worry life doesn't work that way anymore. Once you let the wrong sort in, they only seem to get more wrong.

Either way, I'm enjoying Sunak's campaign. Who in the world is advising him to think leaving D Day commemorations was the right thing.

If this was The Thick of It Season 5, each development would be rejected for being more stupid than the last.

"You know how we had Rishi leave the D-Day commemorations early and then whinge about not having Sky TV?"

"Sure."

"How about we have multiple people from his inner circle show up having bet on the election date after he'd decided it but before he announced it?"

"What, you mean they get mates to put the bets on for them, have a bit of deniability?"

"No, they just literally go into Ladbrokes and put the bet on?"

"That would be far too unbelievable. Utterly stupid. We're not doing that."

It's entirely on brand for the Tories. They don't even care if they get caught out with stuff like this any more because they're so convinced they can simply get away with it.

Just like the Republicans/MAGAtards in the USA and the LNP in Australia.

Unfortunately, for the last 14 years they've been correct.

It won't. Most parties are just slight rebrands of the same vested interests.
There's just the fuckwits you despise less than the others.

So Farage now says Russia was provoked into invading Ukraine.
I guess Poland wound Hitler up too Nigel.

Well he's a documented Hitler fan so it's not that far a stretch for him to think that.

One of my pals had a look at his party's manifesto and it's, uh, very very very 1930s Germany.

And very worryingly he's somehow got loads of support in my locality.
