Another note:
The directing and editing for Daredevil Season 2 is mostly better than that of House of Cards. I have a few small problems with the fight presentation/choreography, but this is an astounding body of technical work for a comic book-based series.

So I finally finished season 2, and I thought it was great. I realy liked the buildup of the Kingpin, but I found the Hand somewhat, hm, uninteresting. Which is surprising. I'm much more interested in the chinese lady.
Still, I think season 3 will be excellent.

We finished this up last night, and both enjoyed it pretty much throughout. Great acting by all involved.
I think I assumed early on that to make this work with DD NOT wanting to kill people and Punisher wanting to kill people that they would have to find a middle ground to work from, something like Punisher shooting to wound or somesuch (I don't know much of anything about his comic character)...but in the end I like that they took it to - Puninsher still kills, and DD lets him cause he's in a rage about Elektra.
With IRON FIST on the way, I wonder how much overlap will occur with the chinese mobster lady?
Enjoyed the cameo by JJ's Carrie Anne Moss. SUPER glad it wasn't JJ herself.
Sounds like there may not be a Season 3 since DEFENDERS (JJ, DD, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist) is going into production with with DD showrunners later this year.

I like the show well enough but I keep thinking the show would be better off if the seasons were ten episodes or even fewer, rather than 13. So much of what goes on with the side characters and side plots seems to be nothing more than filler.

Regarding Karen, that plotline will come to a fruition later on. Probably not next season. If there is a next season. But it pays off.

I liked all of that stuff. 13 episodes still feels too short to me. I reached the end and would quite happily have sat through more.

I think I would have too. I was ready for another arc after Ep13. My wife LOVES the show. She was iffy on JJ, but DD season 2 was her jam.

Just watched ep 3. Great stuff. Epic stairway fight, but you can't beat logic like

We need a Punisher emoji/emoticon.

I remember at the end of Season 2 sitting with that confused quandary of whether or not Punisher is a hero or a monster. There was that dark part of me thinking: A dead gang member wont hurt anybody ever again. Maybe we should just round them all up. Actually I have that thought about people every time I am driving in traffic but that is a different topic.
But then you have to consider what the repercussions of such a choice will mean. What kind of society you create. I think that Punisher assumes the same role that Batman does in "The Dark Knight". By removing himself from society, by shedding the weaknesses and worries of a civilian, Frank Castle can do things that we as a society are not willing to do. The Punisher is just a much more horrifying character than Batman can allow himself to be.
Punisher becomes the predator you are willing to let live, because what he does is useful.

I finished season 2 a couple of days ago. That was really good, I'm glad that they continue to produce quality content like this.
Agreed, which is why Punisher will get his own series on Netflix aswell.

You must be the only person who liked the second half of DD2 more than the first.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

DD season 3 out now. Anyone watching?
Apparently there's a one-take 10 minute fight scene:

I am still only half way into LC2 with IF2 still to go.

3 epis in and enjoying it though.....

You need to watch Punisher.
Not because of any completionist notions, but because it's effing awesome.

I'm still only halfway through punisher. Haven't watched jj2, LC2 or IF2 yet.
Is there a preferred watching order (assuming I get to watch them)

Have yet to watch Punisher.
On Ep 5 of DD3. As much as it's great to see Matt, Foggy and Karen back and I'm not complaining at them (so far) having ditched the whole Hand/Electra plot.... it's not grabbing me at the moment. It's the first time I've really felt the slow build of these Marvel shows as a drag. I'll stick with it though.

We are at about ep 9 of DD S3 and are very much enjoying the plot line. Having Fisk back in the narrative is excellent, as is being introduced to/watching the Bullseye origin tale (Poindexter), And I'm loving the DD first season black outfit mixed with the "Nun" look of the white offset bits under the mask. Watching Matt struggle with who he is and who he wants to be, is endlessly interesting. It's a character study season for sure. Much less action, and much more intrigue and self reflection.
