Apparently a Daredevil show premiers on Netflix on Friday. I've litterally heard nothing about this before today.

It looks competent. I suspect it's going to be more Arrow than the Wire but it looks promising.

Really curious to see how they handle the character and Hell's Kitchen. I am a fan of the more gritty, crime noir type of Daredevil stories where it's just him keeping his turf clean.

From the look of the costume design it looks like they are going for a more practical look than the theatrical, which I appreciate. He looks sort of like Iron Fist with that face scarf.

I am curious about D'Onofrio. He has the look down but he's not as physically imposing. Are they going to give him super powers to combat Daredevils skills or is he going to be more of a shadowy figure that doesn't get directly involved?

D'Onofrio has zero problems with being imposing, compelling and above all, deeply invested in getting "his"/the character's way.

I've watched him for years on the Law and Order show he was on and you may recall his turn as the bad guy in The Cell with Jennifer Lopez.

The only question is how interesting the writers will let Kingpin be. D'Onofrio will knock anything out of the park for a while, but it takes real volatility to keep him invested for years.

I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

D'Onofrio has a habit of close talking and side on approaches that visually suggests intimidation as well as being unusual to see on screen where most actors keep a certain range.

I agree about D'Onofrio appeal. I think it's a great casting choice. He's an actor than can be every bit as scene stealing as The Kingpin should be.

Really liking the way this looks and considering this, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and the Iron Fist series are all going to tie together for the Defenders spinoff, we're in for an interesting ride!

I keep getting distracted by his glasses, which remind me of that goofy lawyer from BSG. Other than that though it looks like it has potential.

I'm curious to see how they work the release format into the wider MCU or if they even try.

Right? It takes cues from the comic suit, the horns are present, the dark eye sockets....but adds the type of material that can move for fighting AND looks SWAT-like enough to take a punch....which is key with a hero like Matt who doens't really have superpowers.

Can't wait to start binging the show tomorrow!

Oh so he actually does have a real "superhero" costume in this series. The other trailer made me think they were going for a more ninja, tight fit, bandana style of costume. This looks more suitabel for brawling.

Not sure that I like the look but we've only seen it in a brief glimpse from the front. I want to see him in motion.

The suit is going to evolve in stages during the show. I forget where I read that.

Alright. A buddy and I just started up the first episode.

6 liters of cola. 2 family size pizzas. Enough Cashew nuts to kill a squirrel.

We're not moving for 13 hours.

Going to do a running commentary as we chew through the show.

I've heard from a friend who claimed that two eps of DAREDEVIL was better than two seasons of AoS. So I'll be curious as to your thoughts, you crazy bastard!

First episode over.

Good introduction. I don't think the actor they picked looks the part but he does a good job of playing the part. Foggy and Karen Page are spot on. Especially Foggy, I like that actor.

Oh god yes. Fuuuck yes. The way the built up this episode is worth some kind of fucking golden globe. The ending of episode 2 is what other shows wish their finales could be like.

Forget all your doubts about Daredevil working on screen.

This was so fucking cool.
