I was disappointed by Daredevils ramp up as well. I think after the inital 4 or so episodes, the show fails to build upon the source material. I'd definitely recommend just watching the last two episodes of the season though if you're waning.

Sadly, Jessica Jones was much like Daredevil for me. Love the introductions, love the set-up, disliked the pay off. But in the case of Jessica Jones it's more case of how much to you like the bad guy and the premise of the season. I thought it was dumb but other people loved it.

Apparently Netflix are already looking at developing a follow-on PUNISHER series, which is hopefully an indication that they producers are very happy with how DAREDEVIL season 2 has turned out.

I can't wait for season 2 of DAREDEVIL. While the first season had some issues, overall I thought they did a great job of setting the scene, and I'm glad they didn't massively overpower the heroes. And now with the groundwork laid, they can push things a bit more.

Only a few months to go.

Have managed to get through S1 with frequent fast fwding of pretty much everything related to Karen, Foggy and Fisk|Vanessa, plus large chunks of Matt being emo.

Do not like the costume, preferred the black oufit with the sock on his head.

Am somewhat more optimistic about S2, hopefully the addition of Punisher and Elektra will give it that comic feel I found S1 lacked.

The thing about that costume is that I hope it symbolizes that he gets that "power" upgrade that I feel he lacked in Season 1. Daredevil never had problems taking out a handful of mooks because his senses and reflexes were so good. Meanwhile in Season 1 he had trouble fighting people one on one.

If they don't upgrade him, especially with some armor plating, I don't see him surviving an encounter with Electra and Punisher.

Fisk/Vanessa bored you? They are usually short interactions and D'onofrio refuses to let the rhythm settle into sappy love.

Abyss, is everything OK? You are stomping on The Magicians and one of the odder/better relationships in TV right now.

I have less time to watch tv lately, thus I've become pickier.

Donofrio is made to play the Kingpin but I think giving him a romantic subplot was a weak choice in S1 - I didn't want to see his love life, I wanted to see him crush more heads.

As for The Magicians, I'm surprised you like it as much as you do, but that's another thread.

The romantic subplot leads to what we'll see Vanessa do in S2 - be a head of a somewhat criminal gang herself in order to free Fisk. It also shows us what Fisk wants above all else (her and the segment of the city), which lets us see how he uses abominable methods to move Hell's Kitchen's worst elements into a better future - except only for rich white people (gentrification).

Just as long as we don't get shit chemistry for them like we did in Affleck movie...

What made that truly astonishing was they ended up married to each other IRL if I recall.

bonkers.

Oh gods, my veins started pounding harder from this 2nd new trailer (Elektra-focused)!

That 2nd trailer looks amazing. Really high hopes for this season after that.

Yeah, the second trailer gave me a much better feel, I think, of what they are going for with this season.

It's really impressive that they were able to cut such different feeling trailers from the one season, and still leave you guessing a bit how it will play out.

The only hesitation I'd have is how well they will mesh the two storylines? Will they compliment each other perfectly, or will they jar?

Saw what you did there. Rep for you.

Different feeling trailers make me worried because it suggests they are trying to be too many things, but then TV, unlike a movie, can get away with that sometimes.

That said, S1 tried to be a superhero origin story, a crime drama, a gritty legal drama, and a sort of love story or two, and only succeeded at some of that.

I can forgive a lot tho since they're bringing back Stick.

I think what's going to happen is you've got Elektra fighting alongside DD, and Punisher and him conflicting over how to "mete out justice properly" but still looking for justice. The three will begrudgingly collaborate late in the season to take out the Hand. So we will get an Ektra arc, a Punisher Arc, and then a team up.

I think 13 hours is perfectly enough time to have two major storylines running concurrently. In fact season 1 did have to resort to a bit of filler so having lots for season 2 to take on is probably a good thing.

The main question is that the two storylines are very different in tone and style by the look of it. Be interesting to see if they run both simultaneously or if they make it essentially a season of two halves.

Also: I found it odd that the Punisher was quoting the Joker at Matt.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

I`m ok w multiple storylines in a 13hr drama, but I like a consistent tone. Sure its good to break up a 22 episode season of an action show with periodic deep or comedic episode (tho filler still shouldn't feel like filler... see most of Foggy n Karen and large chunks of Urich from S1 ), but if you're going for a tighter story consistency counts for a lot.
