Which one? Are you talking about the one with Edward Norton as Banner?

View PostCause, on 09 March 2021 - 04:34 AM, said:

edward Norton is canon, IO forget the reason but basically Ruffalo took over, the movie is canon but it's also been sort of ignored in the greater continuity sense and because of contractual agreements marvel can use hulk in movies with other characters but would have to give away half the profits of a solo movie so they don't bother making them.

I completely forgot there was an Edward Norton Hulk movie. I was thinking of the other one (I think it came before the Norton one), I forget the name of the actor who played Banner, but for some reason I think his name may sound similar to Derek Onion.

Eric Bana

That's the one!

Wandavision. I liked the middle a lot more than the first 2 and the last episode but it was really good. I don't know anything about Scarlet Witch so had no hint of the reveals. There was one episode that really made me cry.

Oh no, we're piggy backing off of someone else, no subscription.

Really have no interest in Mandalorian, I haven't seen all the SW movies, like I say, never really appealed to me overly

BLACK WIDOW is finally going Day and Date to Disney+ Premium Access and Theatrical on July 9th.

This is smart. Hedging their bets on vaccinated people levels and theatre-pull by July 9th, AND giving people who don't want to go to a theatre the home option as well.

I will be doing the home option myself.

Seems like RAYA was a good draw on the Premium Service for them (better than PR nightmare MULAN anyways).

Anyways, cool!

Definitely known in the comic books, and I agree I assumed people just knew...so it's definitely weird that it's not as ubiquitous as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

You should have a go at Hamilton, Mat. Now that you're on the Disney wagon.

That's a musical thing about the founding fathers that costs like 1 million dollars to see live?

Yep.

Fair warning, I thought it was trash, but I'm WELL in the minority on it...tonnes of people love it.

There's catchy parts to Hamilton, but as a coherent story or even as a musical it's not an all time great. What it is very very good at is praising the Obama era political approach and so on - it captures that specific mood excellently and the songs are good to sing/rap along to.

The stars within it seem to be slowly launching real careers.

Quick (and serious) question ... is Doctor Doom MCU? or DCEU?

And will we eventually see him in this stuff?

[EDIT] Oh yeah, where does the Fantastic Four movie figure in this stuff? What about Silver Surfer too? Or was that rolled into one of the X-Men movies? Ummm... also Green Lantern? I mean, he (or the any of those types who have a colored ring) could end the conversation on any of this stuff, yeah?

[EDIT2] uMMM...what about that really shitty Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television show? Does that have anything to do with this stuff?

All of those characters except the Green Lantern are Marvel characters, but they have not appeared in any MCU stuff yet -- they've been in non-MCU movies from before Disney bought up everything, and they will all likely have their MCU debuts sooner or later. Fantastic Four apparently first. But completely rebooted from those previous movies. I haven't seen Agents of SHIELD but from my understanding it started out as a canon spinoff from the MCU, but eventually they decided it was non-canon? I don't know where the Netflix shows are now, but they were also supposed to be canon at the time. And there's a few more Marvel shows scattered on various networks and streaming services too still I think, so maybe all the ones not on Disney+ aren't considered MCU canon?

Anyway, I'm sick of saying the word canon. I watched Falcon and the Winter Soldier and I liked it more than I expected to. It kinda felt like some of the Netflix shows, in fact, but with a bigger budget and obviously stronger ties to the movies. Without revealing those spoilers, I agree with Cause that a few of these story lines will possibly hit uncomfortably close to home (in the US), so it might be hard to manage the escapism element I would hope for from these things. I guess we'll see. I'm feeling more enthused to stick with it now than I was to watch it in the first place, so that's a good sign.

They came with white hands and left with red hands.
