Done with the Faction portion of the Crucible Quest line...leaving only
Weapons Master (in which you have to use a certain weapon to get at least 6 kills in multiple crucible matches)....which was easy with an auto rifle, Hand cannon, and scout rifle....but the goddamned pulse rifle portion is IRRITATING because the pulse rifles I've got are all shit. So I'm trying to get to Crucible lvl 3 on my warlock to unlock Hawksaw, which seems to be the best PVP Pulse rifle in the game right now.
Trials Practice (in which you have to get 5 wins in Eliminator...which I can't do right now because Trials of Osiris is sitting in the Crucible playlist where Elimination is)
And then Mountaintop (Earn 9 points in a row. Crucible wins are worth 3 points, but starting a new match costs 1 point (Achieve 9 points).)
Which opens up Lord Shaxx's weekly Crucible bounties.
All of this just to get the Yesternight Shader for my Warlock. Seriously....I have done ALL this shit, just to get a shader. I must be insane.

You know what one of my fave things in PvP is (I always rant about shit I don't like, so here's something good), when someone on the opposing team gets panicked as I come at them and they blow a Super on one person (Me). I've even had people T-Bag me after they make the inevitable kill, and I'm like "Dude, you just used your whole super on just one guy....Braaaaaaavo." and then slow clap them. I mean honestly. Your Super is for taking out multiple targets, not a panic switch. I don't use my Stormtrance unless I know full well I'm about to go into a spot with AT minimum 2 guys or more...otherwise it's an utter waste, and why use it? Anyways, it never ceases to make me laugh when people do that.
Tonight I should be getting the long ass network cable in the mail I ordered, so I can finally have my PS4 hooked up to a wired connection as opposed to playing it over the Wifi...which is WAY worse right now with all the Xmas lights in my living room fucking up the connectivity.

Just played an entire round of Control where the other team were ALL sliding shotgun shitheads. I literally had to rage quit because it was so bad. Every last player was using a shotgun as a primary and sliding at everyone. Oh, except for one camping sniper who was picking off those the shot gunners missed. I've never been this irritated by people loopholing th game.

Last Iron Banner we went up against a team of 6 sunbreakers all using Bad Juju. None stop hammers until the mercy rule was called!

People.
Should I buy the Taken King? I did play like 50 hours of destiny. Enjoyed the game play but was very disappointed with the games lack of story, worldbuilding and setting. I also never managed to do any of the raids (do they have matchmaking for this yet) but did enjoy the strikes.
Anyway the price is down. is it worth it? Is it better or just more of the same?

Yeah, TTK has made for some fun story elements, and lots of side quests. I love it, and haven't stopped playing.
I have to get a new PS4 Plus card tonight...went home last night and turned it on to play and realized I was tapped out of my 3 month card. Hopefully I'll get on tonight to start this weeks Shaxx's Bounties. Still trying like hell to get that elusive Yesternight Shader.

I swear to gods, these little sliding shotgun bitches are the abolsute WORST. I can usually take them out, but damned if EVERYONE isn't doing it now. What a bunch of babies, play the game straight maybe, and showcase skills instead of exploiting loopholes in the game architecture. Ugh

I got Hard Light. It's sweet, but won't replace my Zhalo, or my Hawksaw.
Oh man, so I've been running the Exotic Sword quest line and I'm at the most time consuimg part:
You have to gather "materials", depends on class of sword (Void sword, which is mine is Iron), and you need between 10 and 15 regularly spawned pieces (ie. not in chests) from farming and that will give you ONE piece of the material you need. You need ten of those pieces of material. That was the easy bit, it took me about 1 hour to collect it all on Mars and fill the bar on the quest, using the Ghost with the Iron finder perk enabled.
It's the second part that's doing me in. You need 100% Ability kills, which works out to be about 500 kills. So that's Melee, Grenades or Supers only...though a cheat is to use your legendary sword till it's nearly out of heavy ammo, shield the last few hits from the enemy...then melee with the hilt counts as a kill. The rest is easy, you go to Woken the Hive on the Moon, or Siege of the Warmind on Earth and kill thralls this way (till they are gone, don't kill the final knight or go into the next room) jump the railing to die and respawn, rinse repeat. You can get like 60 kills in one go.
Seems simple enough. My issue? For some reason my ability kill counter (the percentage bar in the quest line) that WAS going up while I did this repeated activity...till it hit 25% and now it has stopped, and NO ability kills are counting. The bar refuses to go up. I've tried other planets, other strikes, PvP...everything, and NONE of the ability kills that are supposed to count, are counting. I dunno if it was a glitch while I was playing last night or something, or the PS4 needed a restart. I'll check tonight, but if this keeps happening I don't know what to do. Have googled and not run into anyone who has had this issue.

Sorted. It just needed a restart, finished that portion of the quest line. Now I wait for arms day and the final test and I get my exotic sword Dark-Drinker!

I'm pretty over it now. TTK is great, and it definitely injected a much needed breath of fresh air into the game, but with the micro transactions, the lack of much needed segregation between pvp and PvE balance changes, the fact that each expansion barely adds enough content for three months and the continuation of the gear grind end game (for no actual benefits, plus the need for a team of six people to actually play the best parts of the game and still. No. In. Game. Matchmaking. For that stuff... They need to get this game revolutionised, not just refreshed and remonetized. 
(it's still a great shooter, and I'll play it to just chill out, but I have no reason to log in regularly or hang out for the update news, basically.)
