Lagatha is taking a gloriously dark turn this season.
Killing Kalf after telling him she's knocked up with his kid... Just before their wedding.Fuck.
Erlerung .... Bjorn is so going to kill him a lot.
Interesting that Harbard showed up again once Ragnar left.

Is it me, or is the show doing some quick leaps in time?
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Yeah, it is for sure. They seem to be setting up a real mythology plotline or two now (with Ragnar and Bjorn...AND seemingly FLoki...and to do that they gotta jump time a bit).

Looks like Floki is lining up to become a seer.
Whose was the head Ragnar was talking to? Or is that irrelevent - he's just having an opium induced rant, where someone might overhear him let something slip?
Like Bjorn, whose becoming more disillusioned with Ragnar by the day.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Wow that's very ambitious of our fav horde! Also I'm wondering what the point of even having a certain character in the show after that violent and completely random event.... That was just strange
I think to explain why his mind is falling apart. Ever since the prelude to the battle for Paris he has been acting strange. Either by visions or traumas over friends that died. He does have his bright
moments (or maybe still loony) about sailing the land. I wonder were they will be taking this, as he seems highly unstable at the moment. They can lead him up to a moment now where there
won't be any medicine and nobody around to make some more.

I was wondering if the drugs were to deal with the injuries he received last season. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

I'm still enjoying it, but this season definitely needs some more 'fuck yeah' moments, and less 'wtf?'

I think it's transitioning. They've moved Season 1 characters into traditional historical/mythical places.
Real History/Myth spoilers:

At any rate, it's been renewed for Season 5 already. So that's good news.

Ragnar's gone way way down a dark path and his sons are watching it happen.
Will not end well.

Did I see that correctly at the end of last episode? Is the next episode the mid season finale?
I thought Vikings was more or less like other premium/cable special shows with about 10-12 episodes per season.
Seems like we've already had that, there's still half the season left?

Aye, they've split the season in two and I think they are running for twenty or so eps this season!

Now THAT was a Vikings episode.
Fuck Yeah!
It could almost have been used as a conclusion episode.

I really enjoyed the last 4 eps of this half of the season...but sweet merciful jeebus the last ten minutes of that last ep were fucking nuts (in a good way)!
I love the time jump as it allows things to organically be somewhere else, and pushes all the stries into different areas. It also allows Ragnar's other sons to have grown up (though explain how Ivar starts as a little golden blonde haired kid...and ends up a dark haired teen/young adult?), as does Alfred. I'm also impressed by the reintegration of Floki into the Kategat group, including being close to Bjorn.
Anyways, they've DEFINITELY set their sights on the end game, and I don't expect Ragnar to last the season.

It's actually quite common irl for blondes to changes into dark haired teens-20's. Both of my parents had it and they were convinced I'd be same way but nope. My dads brother had it as well. It's very strange looking at photos and seeing bright gold locks on your black haired parents when your 7-10 yrs old.
Weird, I didn't know that.

This! Absolutely this!
That was pretty fucking awesome and intense, almost as intense as the Blood Eagle ending. I had thought that this season had been a bit slow, a bit incoherent. But the last few minutes of this episode redeemed the whole fucking thing for me. It was just sheer awesomeness!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

It was a great episode.
Still it bothers me for 3 reasons. The Vikings did not successfully sack Paris a second time but they were paid to go sack a different part of France that was in revolution. That was completly overlooked. Seems a very odd and major historical in accuracy or omissions. The Chinese lady and her plot line? What was it for? The new Vikings who had ambitions to become king and marry Ragnar wife? What was the point of that story line? Two threads that seemingly had no purpose or reason. Maybe they will still be important after the time jump but I don't think so.
Also I still hate the magic crap and ghostly visitations. Also the cult leader/ possible god guy. These thins in my mind detract from what it is an otherwise great and somewhat down to earth almost educational show

I had mixed feelings about the time jump, and it seemed like Aslaug was in power which didn't make much sense without Ragnar around. That aside tho, I am REALLY looking fwd to what it looks like they have planned for Ivar.
Did anyone spot King Fairhair's bro during the retreat? We saw him take an arrow but it wasn't clear to me whether he died.
Floki was insanely badass these last few eps. Really enjoyed his plotline so far this season.
