I would never make a list! That's straight scum behavior! Surely you see it as color coded labels for our simple minded colleague, Tennes?

Looks like I need to get some catching up to do and there seems to be plenty of time left to do it.

It's good to be loved.

Also, as far as the me not being committal thing, well, I wanted to say I was getting a scummy vibe from you, because I was. It is gut. I try not to vote on gut alone though. Doesn't mean I'm not going to share my feeling though, especially when others have a similar reaction.

On role speculation I think you have made some good points, it certainly suggests there are multiple scum factions and they act as recruiters. It would make sense if they could recruit before day started, I'd also hazard a guess that if the killers are the emperors then the recruiter is going to have some kind of BP, at least a one time BP, this also makes sense considering the emperor cannot be killed/NK'd and would reduce the chances of a recruiter in a small faction being killed before they have much of a chance to recruit. I think there will be certain players that will be unrecruitable as well, killers maybe, or healers or guards.

My feeling against you is mostly gut as well, else I would have truly pushed for your lynch. So no hard feelings, really. I decided on Tellan as the most likely scum currently.

Pointless post. Random W.T.F., pretending to be confused or bothered by the way the thread is going.

Scum.

Ok, we have about 5 hours and very little consensus.

Of the currently voted-on players, I personally have no compunction about switching my vote to any of them (if for no other reason than to demonstrate that I am not blinkering myself to other possibilities), except for Fener and Karosis. Fener because people aren't even voting on gut feeling, just past games and silliness. Karosis because, while I agree that his constant vote jumping makes his vote considerably weaker and harder to follow for others, it doesn't strike me as something scum, who I reckon would be more careful not to stand out like that, would do.

I, for one, consider it interesting that there may be more than one lowly briber. A single entity taking advantage of our temporary lack of funds does not surprise me, but multiple? Perhaps we will be able to play them against each other.

So how can you play them against each other when you do not know who they are. You also say here that you believe there to be multiple scum.

You then proceed to vote Fener over nothing.

Well I'm bored. Shall we lynch someone, then?

Oh dear, Fener is in this game. Goodbye, old enemy.

Vote Fener

You mention one role, the recruiter. This post seems and feels off.

Steve? No, Silanah is Go-Kashiwabara, our Emperor.

I highly doubt my fellow Ministers would be so ignorant as all previous posters seem. Too many to vote now, I will sulk in my own despair.

What manner of recruiter will attempt to bribe us, I wonder. Certainly nothing civil so far.

This is what is being referred to, previously quoted by someone else, Atrahal maybe
I would like clarification on the underlined part

To clarify the underlined, I was implying that if one of the "scum" had posted on thread, they were likely uncivilized, judging from the posts before that in the thread, I only considered Barghast anything above barbarian (ironically). That was RP.

The beginning of the first quote and the second quote are not RP. They were attempts to begin discussion on what we would be facing. No one took me up on the offer of discussion, and no one responded to me. So I took my leave, guessing at the need for more uncivilized conversation before the serious discussion could begin. No harm done, or so I thought.

The "he who smelt it dealt it " rule (crude, by the way) does not apply here, as I was attempting to discuss the scum faction(s) overall, not any specific role. The specific rule is actually that whomever talks of a >role< first tends to be that role. It is, of course, not always true, but scum often use it to target roled players, and it is again widely used in faction games. In a game where there appears to be only 1 role for scum (maybe a symp, do you think?) discussing the the opposing factions without bringing up their role would be impossible, I'm afraid.

I might linger for a few hours, maybe something interesting will come of this conversation. I stand by my current vote, Fener has betrayed us many times in the past, best to rid ourselves of him now.

As per post above, it is not "always" true but it does happen. You stand by your vote on Fener based on what? "I might linger for a few hours", this is scummy. You are mentioned and you arrive. You are only answering to the bits about you rather than others.

 Rashan, on 14 March 2012 - 12:37 AM, said:

My best guesses for scum so far are OE, Okaros, and Fener. If anyone was wondering. No cases to be made, just gut feelings from their post. And because its Fener.

Gut feelings? So you discard my little case on Serc and have gut feelings that you want us to follow?

I cannot help but wonder, at the risk of inciting the ire similar to that which threatens Rashan, whether or not the gods have demed it fit to place amongst us those vested with the ability to dispose of life, or whether such destiny is reserved solely to the Imperial executioners.

At last, and right before I leave for bed.

I would assume that Silanah has a kill, actually. If not that then a find, with an unrecruitable killer pair under his command.

I literally have no time but my post was not about you it was about Serc. I mentioned you, Korv and Karosis but I wanted to hear from Serc, yet you took this to be about you. So he mentions executioners and you come out with killer pair who are unrecruitable? We don't even know if there are killers in this game yet, or how many there are. You surprise me.

If I had more time I'd go through the thread again but it took me a few hours to analyse it this morning and I won't have any more until later.

Hello all!

Checking in, only 5 pages, a pleasant surprise, wil go have a reread.

I have to admit that you have now significantly weakened my case. But your simple line is not yet enough to force me to change my perspective and vote.

I'm still doing my catch up but I had to stop and comment on this. Why am I the only one to make note of what Mockra actually said. He has a total of 3 posts yet his very first post claims that his is Checking in but is also doing a reread. How can you do both? If you are doing a reread you have been lurking and thus not commenting. If you are truly checking in then there is nothing to reread because you haven't read it yet.

Now I stand by my feeling that this game should be focused more on the low posters at least initially. Though Fener still falls into this category I'm going to have to switch to Mockra. This looks like scum slipped up and admitted they were lurking.

Erm, Mockra does use the future tense, i.e. "will" go have a reread. Presumably now that he's checked in. But yes, he should post more.

I know it was about Serc. You accused me at the same time. I refuted you about me, and told you I didn't feel Serc was anymore scummy than any of the other players.

Can you really not read? Barghast was wondering if there are killers in the game. I said there must be, it would be odd to have a game of Mafia with no deaths at night. Then I said that the killer would either be Silanah, or he'd have paired killers who are unrecruitable under his command. Now that I think about it, it would make more sense to have a single unrecruitable killer under his command, if we look at it from that angle. But I still stand by that it is likely that Silanah has a kill herself. In fact, why don't we just ask her.

Sil?

There's nothing wrong with this speculation. You see things where this is nothing, though I suppose that's normal in mafia.
