So listening to Ayreon. The human equation. Very interesting, very different. What genre do they fall under?

Boner Inversion Metal

And that is enough internet for today.

From what I understand, Ayreon albums are collaborations between different artists working in different genres of metal, so no particular Genre. If I had to label it I'd say progressive metal.

Within Temptation / Nightwish / Epica -> After Forever / Therion -> Orphanage / The Gathering -> Dimmu Borgir / Old Man's Child -> Enslaved / Immortal -> Marduk / Emperor -> Mayhem / Darkthrone (swap/invert as per personal taste)

The natural development of the black metal listener. From there into blackened death. From there into death metal. Before you know it you'll be listening to Nile and shouting 'SLAYOOOR'.

Night wish, Epica => Listened to
After Forever => Listening to now
Within Temptation, Therion => Next up
Dimmu Borgir, Emperor => To hear list

i've listening to some of these. Within temptation is ok. I'd reccomend their album the unforgiving and skip the rest. She suffers from the same curse most other female vocalists have. They get boring after a while.(because lets face it you don't listen to WT for the instrumentals)

You haven't heard Angela Gossow then!
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

I actually don't like Gossow's voice. Her replacement, Alissa White-Gluz, however... Her work with The Agonist was sterling (her melodic range is impressive). It's a shame that she didn't seem to do any of her own lyrics for AE as well, because her usual style is very, very complex (you learn words from her).

I'd have to add Vicky Psarakis, who replaced her in The Agonist, as well. Superb voice and switches between the cleans and gutturals seamlessly.

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

In honor of the female metal vocalist, let me present Karyn Crisis for your consideration - she's been doing it for 20 years now

Anneke is in EVERYTHING. I bet there's some hidden references to her in Forge of Darkness as well.

She's the female vocalist on the most recent Devin releases, plus Addicted!. So that's Addicted!, Epicloud, and Sky Blue. She isn't Blattaria, though.
