Yeah, I've got tickets for the show in Amsterdam next month, but this album IMO kinda sucks compared to Koloss... What do?

Anybody else going, btw?

Just curious, has anyone else heard the new Metallica album? I have heard a few songs, and nothing really stuck out.

The Red Fang show rocked! I did realize that I'm too fat and too old to want anything to do with the pit. I enjoyed watching the band a lot more from the bar.

I prefer watching the band and their show too! Instead of joining the pit. And I'm neither old nor fat, so that can't be the reason for our preferences Posted Image

I gave up on the pit when I hit 35. There comes a time when you have to bow out gracefully. Plus I felt I'd served my time in the front line. Still nothing beats the adrenaline rush of kickstarting a mosh pit with a few mates.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Yeah I don't really do pits any more. Mostly cos I'm lazy, also in part due to the fact that I haven't been to a metal gig for ages. But it doesn't hold the same thrill for me as it once did...

Currently listening to a band called Lantlôs who are pretty superb. A friend described them as "sort of a cross between Alcest and Devin Townsend but slower." And yep, that's pretty accurate...

Edit or at least it's actuate for their latest one... Earlier albums are a bit more mental...

fixed that for ya

I actually clicked a random song (These Nights Were Ours) from them, and was positively surprised! Was not expecting the black metal with a description of a slow cross between Alcest and Devin Townsend, but their latest album (Melting Sun) sure sounds like that!

Yeah two very different albums! I'm more of a prog fan so I'm massively digging Melting Sun. Still got love for the craziness though so when I'm in a different mood I'll check out their earlier stuff!

They never really did hold an appeal for me. Mind you, Sim has met me and can attest to the fact I'm tiny. I always felt it far too likely I'd be thrown off my feet so stayed back a bit!
