Someone recommended them to me when I got into Mar de Grises, but I never checked them out. However, Mar de Grises are flipping amazing, so if they are similar, expect prog-doom with a heavy atmosphere!

It's a lot heavier than Opeth or old Anathema, though. This is more SunnO domain, heavy and slow, with some Neurosis post-metal flavour.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Landed some Black Sabbath tickets for Friday 8/19. Can't wait to see Tony playing those heavy riffs.

edit: changed the date.

Anakim.

You guys. They will arrive soon and when they do there will be metal flavoured with the deaths.

My next concert is AlterBridge with Gojira in support.

Leprous are also playing here soon and Messhuggah as well. Pretty excited for all of them!

Would absolutely love to be able to go to Wacken next year, or any year, unfortunately the likelihood of me ever having the money is slim, and I've decided I'm going to make Bloodstock a yearly thing, it was my first one this year and it was genuinely amazing. Had a brilliant time, and got to know so many people so much better, it feels like I should measure my life now in post and pre Bloodstock time lol

I saw your comment on the music thread, Tiste; trust me if you are already a big fan of Gojira they will simply blow you away if they are even half as good as they were at BOA.

Mostly just got local gigs coming up myself, in and around Camden for the most part; even then I'm not sure I'll be able to afford much, Bloodstock has literally cleaned me out, I have nothing left.

Considering how long I've been into Metal, it's very odd that before last weekend I had never listened to Meshuggah, not even once. A friend showed me one song last week, I really need to actually give them a proper listen at some point.
"I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust." T.S Eliot - The Wasteland

Yes you really should check out Messhuggah; I would say they are pretty unique. Try the So, simply named I. It's one track, 22 minutes long. Gives you quite a good feel for the band IMO...

Holy shit, the Sabbath show was incredible. At the time, I didn't even care that Ozzy was struggling to stay in tune. Tony and Geezer were excellent and the set list was pretty much a greatest hits line up.

If you like Sabbath and go in planning on having a good time, the show is excellent.

Did anyone say doom? Check out Hamferð's latest album

or live in the Havnar Kirkja in their hometown on the Faroe Islands:

And I second Meshuggah! Awesome band. I have to listen to Gojira some more too; don't know them too well.

Edits for getting the links right..

Yeah they get the mix of symphonic epic-ness and thunderingly heavy death metal spot on!
