It's OK, but I got Rome 2 and the eu4 demo at the same time. Ended up playing the eu4 demo more, and so bought eu4. Its very pretty, but the strategic depth of eu4 isn't there.

TBH some parts of EU4 I find lacking - I guess I just miss the dynastic mechanics of CK2. You can't breed/school your heir!! Being stuck with rulers like 0/0/1 for 40 years is a bummer.

That was a lot of the appeal for me. Going through the Sisyphus torture fighting those last bosses until you reach that "a ha" moment when you get the pattern down and then thinking to yourself: "I got this fucker now".

Just finished playing through Prototype 2. Very similar to the first one, which I thoroughly enjoyed. What I liked though was the upgrade system and that the side quest are nice boosts but not essential yet they dont feel like padding.

What I mean is like with the Batman games say you go through these side quests ,especially the Riddler trophies, which feel like padding and after you complete them you get rewarded with points to spend on equipment youve probably already got. After a while youve just got alot of currency with nothing to spend it on. With prototype you get a single point per side quest to spend on what skill you want. This made me do all the little side quests which I usually loathe but I found I enjoyed hunting for little black boxes inb all areas of the game. Nothing huge but I just liked it.

Enjoyable with nothing to do after the campaign but still enjoyable.

Witcher 2 next and think im gonna do what Apt did and play on easy.

Just put Demons Souls on for an hour or so. Just made a Knight character and started a new game.

Very different from the first time I played it - having since been playing Dark Souls. I remember creeping through that beginning stage, getting killed a lot and taking a while over it. This time I went through carefully, but with hardly a scratch - I haven't actualky died once yet!

I reached the first boss, but it's so long since I last played that I've forgotten how to level up. I love the music and creepy atmosphere. What a great game.

Running through Prototype 2 at the moment too. Good fun so far - green zone at the moment. Not too fussed about the story because it is very predictable but ripping apart entire bases of troops is entertaining.

Playing Witcher 2. Played it a bit before and did the first act. Just completed the training prolgue bit were youve got to get out of prison. Its not exactly grabbing me once again but ill stick with it as ive heard very good things onsite.

...and finished Baldur's Gate 2 finally! Has been about 5 years ago that I started it for the first time, got a bit distracted by a lot of modern games that came along. The journey was rewarding, starting now with Throne of Bhaal.

Installed the first Stronghold to chase away boredom. It's still a lovely game. Hearing the same old "Can't place that there, milord!" and "Wood needed!" made me chuckle, too.

Sometimes when I'm bored I just want to play a good Tower Defence. Sadly the TD games released these days are several levels below the WC3 mods of yore.

More Demon's Souls.Killed first and second bosses. I love the intro to the Tower Giant - the gates open, he looms into view, then a load of  soldiers with crossbows jump up behind the battlements.

And you just walk in, and kill them all.

Well, I died for the first time, after getting him down to a sliver of health. So I went back and finished him off, collected my dropped souls, and carried on into the next level, all the way through to the first checkpoint in the Burrowers level.

Didn't die once. It's mad, it took me ages the first time... two years ago.

the Banner Saga. I bought it because the whole King IP issue annoyed me. The American legal system is daft.

At any rate, I love what little I've had time to see of the game so far. The artwork is fantastic, and the writing excellent from what little I have seen.

I finished The Banner Saga. A beautiful, well written game that everyone should try. The choices you make have huge, direct and indirect consequences and I feel like diving right back in to it.

Couldnt cope with the Witcher 2. For a game about a professional monster hunter I found the gameplay boring though the story was quite good. I really wanted to like it as the game looked great and you could tell alot of effort went into it but after playing it twice and not liking it on either occasion I gave it up. I hate giving up on games aswell.

Playing Borderlands 2 which is already fantastic fun. Never played the first one but I do like the look of it with the cell shaded graphics. Really enjoying it though im not sure what a couple of things are like this purple eridium stuff that seems to be important. Alos I cannot walk by even the smallest chest without getting out of my vehcle and getting it.

I found it boring. The first time I played it I got just after act 1 and didnt really like the gameplay and I found the combat system very awkward. I didnt have too much trouble with it but this play through I played it on easy on the recommendation of someone on here, Apt I think, and found it ok. The story seems very interesting and I wouldnt mind reading the books theyre based on but I found the actual gameplay boring. It is strange though that I did. Despite not enjoying any of it the first time I played it I played it again because the world seemed very good as did the characters and all the different aspects (fist fighting, interesting craft system with multiple way to win fights, craft weapons etc) but I really couldnt get into it. I couldnt put my finger on exactly why it just didnt grab me. Its like I know that its a good game with a solid engine, plot, graphics etc but I just wasnt enjoying it even after two attempts.

I read a couple of reviews over on gamefaqs and the scores are either 8-9 or 3s so maybe its just different strokes *shrugs*
