Playing Borderlands 2 which is already fantastic fun. Never played the first one but I do like the look of it with the cell shaded graphics. The purple bars will be for upgrading your character at the black market. There will be a main storyline quest showing you how it's done, so you won't be able to miss it. (upgrade the amount of ammo for each type of weapon, and backpack space, as well as bank space)

Bank space? Is that at this sanctuary place? Ammo and back space sound like a good goal as I find myself running short on sniper ammo a fair bit.

also the bars (eradium or something, can't remember) become a lot more common and you're eventually going to have more than you need, so don't feel like you have to be too sparing with your customizing. Backpack space is the way to go, level that up first, then you can sell extra weapons etc easier and make gold.

Also, Clap-Trap is the bomb, worthy of worship. Love him.

Playing Skyrim again with tons and tons of new mods.

On a side note, have you people seen Kingdom Come - Deliverance? I swear it's looking better each time I hear of its progress on Kickstarter. A few thousand moneyz more and the game will come armed with motion capture.

It is, but everything else in Dawnguard is 'Meh'. And if you'd seen the quality of the textures and models used in the Soul Cairn without the lighting effects, you'd be disappointed. XD

Dragonborn is great, though. Especially for Morrowind fans. :)

Hearthfire is a bit limited. It's fine, but pretty average. Wasn't worth the full price at release, for sure!

I didn't like the Soul Cairn at all :)
I didn't count Hearthfire as an expansion, it's just player housing :)

Dragonborn is the best expansion, even though there was a bug that prevented me from completing one of the side quests (outside the main story).
Also, lower your expectations about what you think you will be able to do once you tame and ride a dragon. It was somewhat of a disappointment, imo.

Ah, yes. That was indeed disappointing. On the other hand, by the time you finish Dragonborn, Dawnguard, and the vanilla MQ, you do have like THREE FUCKING DRAGONS at your beck-and-call. Which is just ridiculous.

Demon's Souls.Amazing how much I've forgotten. It's great fun getting to a fog door with a boss behind it, and wondering who it is. Then walking through and going 'Ah. It's you. Shit.'
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Good old Age of Wonders once again. I do like my early 21st century RTS games.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. EU4 further. Tried playing as Mutapa, as Kongo, but catching up with the west is... very luck dependant. As Kongo, for African Power achievement, you really need Porugal to be fairly weak, and Mamluks being broken and Ottomans not blobbing out. In my game Portugal was king of the world. Ah well.

Tried to play as Castille to try out major power gameplay. And boy, it's so, SO easy. I got succession war and PU over Portugal within the first 5 years of the game, and France was my friend until I devoured Aragon, very easy start. It's not the 1670-ies and I have everything in the spanish region, Sardinia + Corsica, Tangiers, Ceuta and Oran. All of South America barring 2 dutch colonies is with my colonial nations - Castillan West Indies, New Granada, Castillan Peru, Castillan Brazil, Castillan La Plata... just waiting for final colonies to pop for that colonial guyana... I hold Ivory Coast+Ashanti, Kongo, almost whole modern day South Africa, Aden, Hormuz, Ceylon, Malacca... Half of Indonesia/Phillippines, all of Australia, finishing up New Zealand. I control world trade, with 7 trading bonuses (maybe more? I don't even count). My protectorates are Brunei, Makassar, Aceh, Kilwa and that little strip of land north of Kilwa and one more country in Indonesia I can't name off the top of my head. Trade value reaching Sevilla is near 80. I think I could do better! I might just go ahead and make a move on Gulf of Aden, Ceylon, Indus and Bengal, though I'm not sure I have the amount of merchants I need... I might have to just make sure trade gets steered without my involvemend along Zanzibar, The Cape, Congo and Ivory coast... there's so much more trade to be grabbed!
France didn't colonize nor blob. England is my major rival, with colonies across north america and some here and there in Africa and the Indian Ocean, Taiwan and Kurils... the Dutch are also strong in the colonial game, and Creek westernized and blobbed across the midwest. I'm now allied to Tuscany, Creek and the USA and supporting independance of Nova Hollandia, with royal marriages with Tuscany, Creek, USA (yeah it's a feudal monarchy kek), France and... hmmm. Do I have one extra diplomatic relation I could fill? Hmm hmm. Austria is weak, Bohemia is the Emperor, only 3 reforms passed. Sweden blobbed over Scandinavia, Timurids hold everything between Ottomans and Delhi and the fast blobbing bengali Hindustan. Ming survives, Korea is huge, Japan formed but is bullied by Russia and Korea, Ayyuthaya holds Indochina.
France has disputed succession so the game tells me on the king's death there'll be a succession war between myself and France. I have more forcelimits but they hold a larger army and have 3x the manpower reserves. I'll have to put my income to good use and drown them in mercs - pull their army into my territory, bait them to attack in the mountains or hills and reinforce-defend, then blanket siege and blanket blockade their ports until I can force a PU. Spain + France PU? omg so stronk!

Downloaded The Last of Us yesterday.

I've played about a handful of hours so far, loving every moment of it. It's pretty much what I expected. I'm a bit disappointed by the premise of the story though. I remember watching all the promos last year or was that 2 years ago now? The impression I got of the story then was of something a bit less "story driven" than the rather played out plot that is unfolding now.

But that's besides the point, the storytelling, the voice action, character animations, everything is superbly crafted into the kind of story that it seems only Naught Dog are capable of or interested in telling.

Got a bit annoyed just now when the game jumped straight over a cut scene and when the game started again, something really important had happened in the cutscene, and was spoiled by the character dialogue. Had to go on youtube and track down the cutscene.

No harm no foul but I hape something like that doesn't happen again.

EDIT: It just skipped another cutscene! Motherfucker! God damn streaming buldshit! Rrraaaaarhhh!

Playing the latest TOMB RAIDER on PS4 (the rebuild they did for the system makes it SO GORGEOUS, no comparison to the PS3 which looks like PS2 graphics in comparison)...and the game is as awesome as I wanted it to be.

My fiancee also got me LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES for the PS4...and it is also kickass fun!

These two games will sustain me till INFAMOUS: SECOND SON comes out.

..but that's what I say every time the game goes tits up on me. Every single time.

I was this close to creating the Kingdom of Rus. But then the darn Byzantine Empire waltzes in while I'm busy spanking some tiny barony cuddling up to my border.. And my heir considers this just the perfect time to go rebelling up the countryside.. The hell, heir?! Fortunately, my other potential heirs were chumming around in prison and that was the perfect spot for them. And right when I decide, okay, son guy, you can be the chief now, some mayor from the countryside decides that my half-dead brother's butt (well, now uncle) would be so much nicer to stick his head up.. Duh.

Watch out for my revenge. Sometime next month, when I get the craving for CK2 again.

Assassin's Creed IV.

Enjoying it so far. Nothing great, but for someone who hasn't been able to get into any games since the second one it's holding my attention so far. Annoyed that they still have the silly sci-fi shit involved. I don't mind the Pieces of Eden or whatever, but the Animus and modern-day plot line stuff was always a huge turn off for me (plus I heard it particularly sucked in 3). Really wish Ubisoft would just dump it, it feels extraneous and unnecessary. How many people really give a shit about the modern day stuff anyway?

It's funny, I'm of the opening that the only story related stuff in AC games, that is actually halfway good is the modern day/post-human stuff. The rest of it is poorly written, poorly scripted and because they are missmanaging the link between future and past the story is just plain unnecessary.

The future stuff is great because when it is combined with all the secret stuff hidden inside the game, like the puzzles, pseudo-historical references and plain weirdness, it creates this weird futuristic setting where anything is possible... if only the awful writers would actually do something good with it.

I like how the present day characters observations put the entire game into perspective and I've legitimately enjoyed seeing Desmond evolving over the course of the series. The fact that he was actually absorbing knowledge and skill through his memories turned him into a potential badass. Unfortunately AC3 for all the good things it did, also sort of took a dump all over the whole thing.
