I like how Mark outright says he's going to brainfuck them all as soon as he wakes up. I can't quite guess whether he's going to be a viable threat or just forced to cooperate with the rest. If we're looking at nuke bombardment then it may take all 12 to protect Whitechapel including Luke and Mark whether they like it or not.

I also like how Connor says that if they all fail Arkady will be the only one left to act and it's abiguous just how he means that, ie: she's dead meat, or something really truly hidious is likely to happen.

Also we see why Sirkka and Miki were specifically left form last ep for this one - and not just so Duffield can almost get me fired for viewing the FA website at work...

I thought the remark about Arkady was that he hadn't levelled her, and so she'd be the one left who would NOT collapse.
Also, I don't think delivering a nuke by helicopter is going to work (also, I have no clue about ranges military helis have, but I doubt they could start in the US, yet the star seems to indicate USAAF - so that means, there is a more or less intact airbase with enough kerosine supplies somehwere in the UK). So, nuking is out of the question. Rather, I think this may be an invasion or something.

Why not mercs? i mean, if the shit hit the fan hard enough in the States, the place would light up with so much muzzle flash that it would be years before anybody got their eyesight back.

what i'm saying is, it doesn't necessarily mean the the "Americans" are invading, or even scouting. it could be some Americans but i'm not ready to believe it's the first element of a traditional American military operation. that helicopter could be from an american base in Britain.

this is assuming that the shit did hit the fan in the US and things went haywire. maybe it didn't, maybe they are out hunting angels

You'd need someone who knows how to fly a military helicopter - don't think they're a lot like regular helis (not too many pilots for those lying around, either).

Secondly, military materiel was likely either destroyed by the military themselves, or already sold, whether or not wholly or partly.
Look at the scarce resources the FA themselves have: every machine they own is constructed by them, most of it steampowered. They have a far better chance keeping things together and scavenging than most others do.

Thirdly, who would pay mercs? With what? And why wouldn't they take what they want, anyway? Why is there still a US logo on the side, instead of their own logo/name whatever?

No - he said that they will all pass out soon and they have to act in a way that takes care of the problem in such a manner that Arkady, who will be the sole "good guy" conscious, can take care of things from there. Mark is going to wake soon also - according to that specter in Connor's dream though.

If it was the American base in Britain, I think they'd have popped up sooner. The catastrophe took place years ago. There is a colossal American presence in Germany, as well as a small base somewhere in the Northern Atlantic (Greenland or Iceland, maybe). That might be why it took years for them to get over to Britain.

Or they could have launched from the Eastern Seaboard in a true punitive expedition designed to bring Truth, Freedom and the American Way to those snaggletoothed Limeys who broke the planet...

Could also be an indy group who has access to some US military hardware. No reason they have to spraypaint logos on to use it.
