And greetings, Mister Myskin. We have battled before, you and I. You are a worthy opponent, and I look forward to many a verbal fencing session.

First let me say that I hope the misspelling of my name was done on purpose. That would be pretty cool, in a somewhat gross kinda way.

Secondly, thank you. It's always nice to be appreciated.

Third, I am now pretty curious about who you really are. If you PM me (on this board or at westeros) your identity I promise I won't tell anyone, I won't even tell them that you PMed me.

I don't care if you're a troll or a true fan, but please please don't make me laugh like that again I get very odd looks from other people in the room.

"Truth has advocates who seek understanding. Corrupt ideas have miserable little fanatics who attempt to enforce their beliefs through intimidation and brutality… through faith. Savage force is faith’s obedient servant. Violence on an apocalyptic scale can only be born of faith because reason, by its very nature, disarms senseless cruelty. Only faith thinks to justify it....Justice is not the exercise of hatred, it is the celebration of civilization."

Always seek gross generalisation.

He's obviously a true Tairy fan, just one with a sense of humour. I'd always thought they were oxymoronic, but apparently not...

Rahl, reading your posts, however entertaining, is made rather difficult by your choice of font. For the internet, sans serif ftw.

As for the discussion itself...

Terry deserves some respect. Your presence (whether as a halfway decent troll or a legitimate fan) serves only to diminish said respect.

Terry Goodkind deserves more than some respect. He deserves all of our respect, for the work of art that is the Sword of Truth. Every facet of that world was carefully planned. For example, the name Zedd. Truly, Goodkind has undone all of the usual ridiculous uses of the latter Z simply because it looks cool on paper, and created something magnificent.
Mister Myshkin, my identity is nothing more than a humble believer in Truth, one among the ranks of the enlightened like Mystar.
Mappo's Travelling Sack; it is never a gross generalization. Truth is always what it is. You, too, should try seeing the world through the eyes of Goodkind. We are stalwart defenders of Justice against evil in all its forms. Even the most innocent, such as the Chickens of the Mudpeople.
zanth13, I have been referred to as the Shining Enigma before, however, I am not the man you speak of.

I am no troll. As I said, I am simply a fan of Mister Goodkind's Wheel of Truth series, and will no doubt be a fan of his new series, if he keeps writing with such vision.
He is a man who truly understands the world.
Let me offer a quote from Mister Goodkind himself.
"Number 1: Existence exists - what you see around you does exist. Number 2: Everything that exists has its own identity. Your computer is not going to give birth to kittens. Your cat is not going to be able to do higher mathematics. Number 3: Consciousness exists, and the purpose of consciousness is to discover the identity of those things around you so that you can survive. It's the successful pursuit of values. The bird that can catch a worm is going to survive. Human beings are no different: when they pursue values that are ethical, moral and valid, those help you to survive. Having a job is a value. Finding something good to eat is a value. Finding someone to love and share your life with is a value. "
This is his philosophy. This is his mentality. And he is correct in it, and spreading it. He has broken the world down for me, and I do hope this quote will help others.

I will admit, there are many philosophies. However, there is only one Truth.

The Truth I speak about is Objectivism. It is the only Truth. As Mister Goodkind himself has said:

Quote

I consider Ayn Rand to be the greatest philosopher since Aristotle. In many ways, I think she surpassed Aristotle. Ayn Rand, philosophically, has accomplished what physicists have been trying to accomplish with the Unified Field Theory. The clarity of her philosophy [Objectivism] and the brilliance of it is awe inspiring to me.

As you can see from my above quote describing Mister Goodkind's views, it is true. Ayn Rand's teachings are the Unified Field Theory of philiosphy. They encompass everything, tie it all together, and show the world as what it really is.

Not merely stuff. The Sword of Truth. The greatest series of novels ever written. They defy genre. They are not even fantasy books. No. They are more like essays in human nature, or perhaps James Joyce's Ulysses, expanded into a series.
