Made the mistake of going to see 2012 last night.

I've had my intelligence insulted by movies before, but never quite so brazenly. How many times in a row can someone just escape by the skin of their teeth? And good old "movie time" - we may have 30 seconds to save everyone (which, by the way was up about 2 minutes ago), but we still have time to deliver truly execrable cliched dialogue. Poor old Chiwetel Eijofor certainly earned his money simply by keeping a straight face.

The apocalypse pr0n was quite fun though. I'll admit it was (almost) worth the price of admission just to see

I totally disagree with Mezla, they aren't a bad idea. The Chronicles was poorly executed, but the universe has loads of potential. Pitch Black was a good film, if they go back to a story more like that, less complex then it could work. If anyone has read the David Gunn books, Riddick would be good as a Sven type character and it would fit in with his badass ways.

Mal got you to read them too? I was surprised by how much fun they turned out to be all in all. Vin Diesel is too girly to be a proper sci-fi viking cyborg alien though

Just watched Law Abiding Citizen.

Meh, I'm firmly on the fence for this one, on one hand the premise is something I wholly agree with, that the justice system is totally wank and Lawyers (thats you morgoth) are for the most part bloodsucking leeches only interested in their reputation and bank balance. (I could start again on my dislike but its not the time or place) However the execution of the idea of the movie was... lacking. In the desire to shock the audience with the lenghts a man will go, it simply went too far, turning it into a bit of a pos.

Won't be watching again, but don't consider it a wasted £5

I have tickets to Jaws 3D. Does that count?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

you aren't dead, and his god says he cannot kill, although oddly he says nothing about necrophelia.

Now that raises a damned interesting question: What if the subject of his amours died and was revived?

Interesting Question. Perhaps his GF has a note in her wallet 'do not recessitate so I can get lucky for once'?

There is such a good dead joke right there. But I won't do it.

MOVIES!

The Seventh Seal. Perhaps Sweden's only greatest contribution to the world of film. I just love this movie to death.

Have you seen "Let the right one in"?

also, there can never be too many dead jokes. IT is the bread and butter of this place.

Actually I have. Vampirey whatthefuck ever doesn't do it for me, plus the subs were pretty terrible. I have to admit a slight fondness for the movie where the guy jerks off the horse into a bag//another guy fantasizes about sexing up his cheerio filled girlfriend... Four shades of brown?... was pretty great. Compared to Seventh Seal though? nothing to write home about.

What are you supposed to do in this thread, I'm unsure..?

Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing The Last Station (yes it's mainly because of James Mcavoy), but I am scared that it won't be released over here, hopefully it will though, the trailer is really good.
