I'm surprised at how Morbius is actually outstripping global capitalism at the box office. Absolute scenes. He's about to morb.

Similar to how you don't bet against James Cameron, you also don't bet against George Miller. The man's filmography is nigh untouchably excellent.

EDIT: Also his wife Margaret Sixel (probably the best editor living) is editing it.

Looks a little Tarsem-y!

Exactly my feelings!

It's Tarsem, but likely more approachable due to Miller's filmography.

That said, I love both THE CELL and THE FALL, so I'm already geared to like that sort of weird imagery.

Yeah, I don't know. Eyeball test and first impressions are a thing, therefore, eh, probably a resounding nope from me. If reviews are more than kind, maybe.

[EDIT] Also, I'd like to punch who ever put that trailer together. Whoever came up with the mktg. tagline "From the 'Mad' Genius of George Miller" - deserves at least one solid bop to the nose.

I watched Free Guy bc I was feverish from COVID. It's decent and was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the overwrought, yet underbaked Marvel movies. This one never claimed to be anything great, but did well in what it aimed to do. The CGI was maybe the weakest point in the scenes.

Jodie Comer can act so damn well.

She was inarguably my fave part of that flick. She was incredible.

Finished Black Widow. More accurate to say I fast forwarded Black Widow. Drivel

Finished My Name is Nobody. HOLYSHIT this was great!

Finished Batman. Only took me a few weekends to get through this. Drivel

Finished Duck, You Sucker. Very good and I got the jingle stuck in my head since.

Finished Once Upon a Time in America. Utterly fucking brilliant.

Finished Black Mass. Pretty enjoyable though I’ve seen better mob shit for sure.

Didn’t yet finish Matrix 4. Have gotten around 20ish minutes in a few days ago. So far drivel.

Managed another 20 minutes with of Matrix 4 before turning off. Those 40 minutes so far are pure shitfest and I really want to change this by ending. Unfortunately it is such a steaming pile I just don’t know how long it will take me to get there if I can only get through a few minutes at a time.

“MR ANDERRRRRSAAANNNN!”

Yea nah crap Smith it’s Mr. Anderson. Calm like Weaving.

This show is nothing but shit ham shitstalgia so far.

Start with either The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (Jimmy Stewart is amazing also), The Searchers, or Rio Bravo.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

The Tomorrow War is terrible. Chris Pratt looking the same amount of concerned about fighting alien monsters as he is doing lab research with his daughter is a highlight of the movie. Just a disjointed, no real time spent with characters despite Sam Richardson knocking it out of the park as a side character, lifeless mess.

The Lost City of Z is an interesting movie. All of the performances are good to great. It slides us from British upper class stuff to the Amazon to WW1 trench warfare and back with a good amount of style and what appears to be deep respect for natives. However, it's just not there as a full story. The book it's based on isn't really there either. I'm torn about this as it's a great execution of a look at the foulness of European/American expansionism, yet somehow not getting to a place where it says anything particularly moving or novel about it all. Hunnam is so much more pleasant as a main character to spend time with than Chris Pratt though.

17 minutes and 7 seconds into a rewatch of Wild Bill. Had to turn this turd rocket off. It was not great the 1st time oh so many years ago but atleast I was able to finish it then. That was horrible.

It is terrible.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.
