If you like british sitcoms, check out black adder and red dwarf. Aufwedersein, pet and only fools and horses may not transfer outside of the UK very well, but they are excellent if you can find em.

watched kill Bill 2 last night and personally enjoyed it much more than 1, which i found quite dull (nice to look at but, the story was boring) However i think quenten (SPelling?) has somewhat lost his touch when it comes to dialogue, just wasnt up to the calibre of previous movies.

@Rallick Nom
FLCL is good. Embrace the weirdness you know you want to!. It's just normal for a person to be shot as a cannonball by a robot. And guitars can indeed be deadly when swung by people riding flying orange scooters. Posted Image
Last Exile, may I commend you on your choise. I really liked the style and atmosphere of the series. Storywise it has a tendancy to wander a bit.

Bubbahotep cracked me up, subtle humor and good wordplay. Even sober it remains funny. Good, we could use some wheels man

To those who haven't seen Once Upon a Time in the West yet, go see it or ... well ... nothing but it has my recommondation.

I wanna see that! Shaun of the Dead - but I'm not allowed to until my best friend comes back from Toowoomba so we can see it together Posted Image

Also looking forward to Ladder 49 - Joaquin Phoenix is hot! (sorry)

I am not ashamed to admit I can't wait for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire either!!!

Yeah Michael Moore might be one sided and have stupid arguments, but he sure is entertaining...

Which brings me to the movie I just saw last night, "Hedwig and the Angry Inch." It's about an ex-East German rock musician, victim of a botched sex change operation (hence the "angry inch"), who is suing another rocker for plaigiarism. Great music and hysterically funny.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

After I moved to my recent home last autumn I've begun to buy some 'really bad' movies, because a second hand shop in my neighbourhood sells old vhs-cassettes 3 e/cassette (that's about 3 dollars). In my shelf are now:

Plan 9 from outer space
Ninja's Force
The Flash 2
Attack of the killer tomatoes
Revenge of the killer tomatoes
White Phantom (a ninja-movie)

A good start...
Someone said that the four worst films of all time are Plan 9 from OS, Attack of the Killer tomatoes, Toxic avenger and Dracula vs Frankenstein.

I caught Spidey yesterday. Great flick.

Funny thing was that a major thunderstorm knocked out the power in my town for a couple minutes while I was in the theater. THe lights went out and all the little kids in the audience freaked and started screaming and running up and down the aisles. Rather amusing. Power was only out for 5 minutes and then the flick started up again where we left off. Posted Image

Saw alexander.

The first half was so devoid of all conflict (between characters that is) that it was just boring. It picked up a bit after that but still very mediocre overall. And what ON EARTH is up with the accents? Posted Image

Saw closer.

Pretty good character driven movie. Clive owen can act... wouldnt have thought it possbible after king arthur. And then there's of course natalie portman. Posted Image

Saw Million Dollar Baby.

Very good acting by eastwood, freeman, and the girl.

Saw sideways.

Pretty mediocre... a couple of laughs... but for once a film that ended when it was supposed to end.

Saw the aviator.

Liked it. Cate blanchett was great as kathrin hepburn. Rest was top-notch, too.

@LooseCannon - *shrugs* like I said, I realize it's nit picky, but comic book or no, these things seem fairly obvious to me. You'd think that the producers would notice details like that, that's all. I know the general public is fairly ignorant, so I can see why nobody does any quality control on things like that. Just irks me...I still enjoyed the movie.

@sha'ik reborn, American History X is indeed an awesome movie, it ranks as one of my all time favs.

I've only seen a couple good movies lately:

Mystic River - Sean Penn was most deserving of the Oscar he won for this. Superb movie all around.

Man On Fire - Holy good god, such an awesome movie! And to think, I was iffy on renting it to begin with. Boy that would have been a mistake!
And so the First denied their Mother,
in their fury, and so were cast out,
doomed children of Mother Dark.

Bad: If you can track down a Korean movie called Volcano High, rent/buy it. This martial arts/supernatural power/high school movie is right up your alley. The story is pretty pedestrian, but it's chock full of Matrix-like special effects. MTV is going to show a dubbed version in the US in a few months. You can get a copy on Ebay or rent it like I did (nicheflix if you're in the US.)

Haha, I found a lovely topic absolutly perfect for my recent falling back in love with films.

Pulp Fiction - I watched a part of this a few weeks ago on BBC2 but couldn't watch it all, very dissappointed as it was the first film is aaaagggggeeeessss that I really liked and sat down to watch as much as I could. A few days later I bought this, Reservoir Dogs & Jackie Brown. I didn't enjoy the Butch part of the story as much as the other parts. But still very, very good movie. 9/10

Posted Image Reservoir Dogs Posted Image Posted Image - My Fav. QT movie by far and have watched it again already. Not much to say apart from WOW!!!! and Posted Image Posted Image
Ummm, 11/10
...I think I'll need to check out City on Fire as well.

Jackie Brown - Quite different than his other movies and often is overlooked. I wasn't expecting to like this film as much as I did. 9/10

Kill Bill (vol.1 & 2) - First QT movie I watched (well the first part was) and loved the action scenes, which part in the b&w scene caused it to go b&w? Cool film! 10/10

Posted Image Quentin Tarantino is great isn't he?

Other films I've seen this last week are:
The Usual Suspects - Nice ending and didn't even see it coming. 8/10
Fight Club - Second time I've watched it... I love all the little hints about the ending and you wonder why you didn't guess the ending. 9/10
Versus - Eastern zombie flick, I think is how you could describe it. Nice action scenes. 7/10

After dismissing Family Guy for ages for being a 'Simpsons clone' and reading quotes from the series I thought what the hell and bought Season 1, 2 & 3. I realise my stupid mistake, Will the world forgive me? Even funnier than Futurama which I adored.

My X Files Season 1 boxset got here today so I've got plenty to do this bank holiday weekend and also ordered Season 2 + 3. Anyone else like X-files alot?

I wonder how many more changes he's done to the DVD release of the Star Wars trilogy? Anyone know any really bad ones?

So City of God is worth seeing? Heard is been described as a South american Godfather, Is it really that good.

just saw "lone star". immagine my dissapointment! before it started I thought it was about Lone Star (Lonestar?). turns out it's a movie about pre-union texas. once I got over the first dissapointment, I moved over to the second. the movie was crap. dunno, maybe it's just me, but I think the old movies are highly overrated. actors weren't actors. they were characters with twists in their background. much like george clooney today (with the exeption of o'brother).
