Most of the good movies I have seen lately are foreign:

Shaolin Soccer, My Wife is a Gangster, Hero, and City of God completely made up for the mind numbingly stupid Hellboy.

Bad Santa is the only good new movie (for me) from the US I've seen lately.

I can't seem to find a place that rents the British miniseries Ultraviolet. I wonder if it's worth the hunt...

Alien vs. Predator seems like a childish idea for a movie and comic for that matter. That whole line of thinking is good for maybe a 2 minute conversation i.e. my dad can beat up your dad or the Hulk is stronger than Superman and so on... Alien vs. Predator is probably another special effects reel and nothing more. Without stars like Sigourney Weaver, Schwartzennegar, or Jesse the Body to carry AvP, what's the point?

I'm still pissed off about Unbreakable. It was like a soap opera for comic book retards. No offense of course to comic book retards!

Anyway, the movie Brother is really good. It's about a Japanese gangster (Takeshi Kitano: the teacher in Battle Royale) who comes to the US. Rent it!

I read a couple of those but there a little to expesive for me at the moment.

both series are only cartoon series so far, with the exception of shogun assassin, which I thought was fun, but not holding up to the original series.

I'm about to start the Evangelion series. There are like 3 endings to it. Ugghhh.

Anyone else seen the movie Rolling Thunder (1977)? The guy who wrote Taxi Driver wrote the script. Other than Kill Bill and Payback, it's probably the best revenge movie I have ever seen.

I HATE M.NIGHT SHAYLAMAN!!!!

How can you take two R-rated movies stick them together and make a pg-13???? AvP = suckage. There is a clip with a *big* fightscene between the alien and predator and i have to saw it sucked ass.

@Dark Daze

Now im gonna have to hunt you down and taunt you into submission!

I read the hellboy comics, and no, they arent complicated or even serious, they are fun, like the people with degrees in astrophysics who watch east enders, i wouldnt say it is because they are exceptionally stupid, id say it was more that sometimes u need bubblegum for the brain, and it fits the bill nicely, and as for Ron Perlman? He was great in Enemy at the Gates

incidentally, whats so bad about tim burton?

I liked Batman 1 & 2, Ed Wood, Mars Attacks, and my all time fave film, The Nightmare before Christmas... weird is good Posted Image

yer just sooo wrong Posted Image

Well saw Die Hard 2 AGAIN!!! Last night on TV, you gotta love Die Hard, but the star was definately the lil' black guy who had a senior postion in the airport. I wanted to say heehee, Chamon MoFo, chektaconey after everything he said Posted Image. Also the crazy janitor was amusing (are all janitors crazy btw???) and thumbs up for Bruce saving the day again - Yippi-ki-a MotherF*****!!!

The Eagle has Landed is a good film. I watched it the other night as well.

I caught "Never Cry Wolf" last night. What a great film. Very simple but very powerful.

A couple of the clerks at my video store told me to avoid the Battle Royale sequal.

Harder They Come- best reggae gangster movie I have ever seen.

Amorres Perros- a good multistoried movie by the same director as 21 Grams. It drags a little.

The Great Silence - a cool Sphaghetti Western not made by Leonni.

The Office - simultaneously one of the funniest and most boring TV shows I have seen in a while (reminds me of the Christopher guest mockumentaries, but much funnier.) If anyone has any British sitcom recs, rec away...

The Bourne Supremacy- The only 5 star movie I have seen lately.

God Awful movies and TV that other people like:
1) The Ben Stiller Show
2) Bully - Same director as Kids. New level of suckitude.

Ah, but what you want to be looking for in a Residence Evil movie is suspense like you got in the games and from what i heard about a the first one it failed utterly at that.

Alien vs. Predator should be avoided! Not only will it be a bad movie, but it will be a bad action movie. AvP will be the worst sequal since Dumb and Dumberer.

Taken for what it is, AvP doesn't have to be deep, but it must be exciting, and anyone who thinks AvP is exciting should seriously think about a 12 step program.
