I was trying to forget your first sentence.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

So I apparently forgot to read KoD, since I don't remember any of that.

Oh well.

The last thing I remember is:

Is there some way of putting a spoiler warning on the title of the thread? This is getting tedious and if we're talking about Book 12 it stands to reason that people should have read Books 1-11 beforehand. Anyway:

Meh, not as bad as anything in Book 10.

Hooddamn I've forgotten a lot of stuff! I didn't remember half of the spoilers posted here. Really not looking forward to a re-read, so maybe I'll just skip it and try to remember stuff along the way of reading the new books. Hope Sanderson puts some new fire on the cold fireplace that is the Wheel of Time series.

Wow, all of these spoilers are making the books actually sound exciting!! Wert's summary is just fantabulous.

Despite Wert's summary, I still say nothing happened in KoD.

Seconded. Still, I'll read the book, in the hopes Sanderson actually does something good with it.

I disagree, but that's mainly because 1; KoD actually took time to happen, unlike the almost entirely-flashback, one day of timeline progression CoT, and 2; I have an unreasonable love for terrible jokes, including 'need a hand' and its relations.

Almost too much happened in KoD. After 1000s of pages of reading and every character is still where he was only for
Spoiler
these things deserved more than the ten pages each they got and for a series eleven books long how did he misjudge it so badly

In fairness to Jordan, after years of denial he clearly did recognise that something had gone terribly wrong with WoT and he needed to fix it. I don't think the fixing was done very elegantly and he probably overcompensated, but after the dull direness of the preceding three books, KoD was still a massive improvement and set things up well for the last act of the story.

KoD was a bit of an improvement on CoT but meh, not by much. It was still a bit crap. Cause summed it up quite well just above. By the time anything interesting happened, it had already been dullened immensely by 25 pages of Mat buying a horse, or something.

That is, even by Sweet's standards, totally fecking awful.

Dear God that is absolute shite

Poor American chums, I feel for you.

Looks like Rand has just farted a hole in the house and is celebrating by doing an N-SYNC dance routine.

I reckon any of the artists in the Maz art forum could do a better job, seriously.

Well at least I won't have to look at it :)
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

And serve it to a pig
And though it hurts, you'll laugh
