I can't for the life of me think where you'd laugh at Jordan. I can see where he's trying to be funny. He just isn't floating my boat. It's all kind of obvious and devoid of wit, more like music hall comedy of the 1920s.

Unless you were laughing in despair at yet another pain in the arse bint getting grumpy and Rand being an emo prick.

I like the books (well 7 or 8 of them), just not to laugh at

I can't quite see how they could be considered humourous either. I can see that in some spots RJ is making an attempt at humour of some description, and if that particular brand of humour gives you the giggles then more power to you. It just makes me cringe.

Maybe my sense of humour isn't as finely developed as some (I mean, I laugh at maths jokes ffs!)
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. I admit, I do laugh at some strange things sometimes.

There was a bit with Rand trying to make a joke to some Aiel and failing miserably that was actually funny.

I also laughed when the wall fell on Matt...

- Abyss, ...ok, maybe that was just me.

Aye, Lord of Chaos, chapter 6, "A Sense of Humor".

- Terez, knew that from memory...

A Memory of Light has been split 'maybe' into three books (i.e. it will be split in three but Tor are trying to appease the fanbase by saying it could still be two), the first of which will be called The Gathering Storm and released in November 2009. And yes, you'll have to wait 12 months for the next one. And 12 months for the one after. Although Sanderson expects to have the whole thing finished by the end of the year at the latest.

In addition, that is really quite a hideous cover. It's even worse than Knife of Dreams. Rand breakdancing in front of a haunted house? Okay...

holy shit that Rand breakdancing comment had mee laughing for an hour

I just saw this, since the thread was resurrected, and realized that it was actually chapter 4. Chapter 6 was Graendal and Sammael, 'Threads Woven of Shadow'. I knew that, but I see that it was early in the morning, so maybe my brain wasn't awake yet. ;)
