I liked Hume because when Morgy had my account fiddled with to stop me changing my avatar from Orlando Bloom in during Avatar Day, it accidentally gave me access to the dreaded 'Moderator Only Forum'. I didn't have time to read more than part of one thread (posting 'Hey, do you know I can read this thread and post when I shouldn't even be able to see it? Maybe you ought to fix that' really provokes a response) but there was an old post by Hume-as-a-mod that listed a bunch of members who, if they said something about the books, you shouldn't bother arguing with - and I was on there, albeit with occasionally added on. So that was nice.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

What happened to Jen'isand Rul? I remember him ruling the forum, but did he get left behind in the forumtransfer?

I know where Shiara is, she's busy with life. I actually spoke to her a few hours ago.

My most nostalgic moments are the Jenny forum avatar day. I inadvertedly started that by changing my avatar's to Jenny then I return 12 hours later and everything was nuts...I was incredulous for once. I couldn't believe how far everyone took that idea!

The other nostalgic moments were in the rep wars when me and Apt were on a rampage against Abyss and everyone else in the thread, I got Shiara involved because she had more reputation than everyone else and then she considered becoming Abyss' queen until I reminded her that Abyss had bangkok penis rot. Naturally Abyss beat Apt at his game and I escaped in the arms of Brood who managed to claim a superficial, but lasting, victory over Abyss. Then Steven Erikson said Abyss was his forum hero, or equivalent, and Abyss claimed a epic victory, perhaps forever.

I guess there was the Return of the Crimson Guard review I wrote which was heavily acclaimed, winning Pat's contests for both Reaper's Gale and Toll the Hounds (the top prizes) and my 1000th and 2000th posts. The 2000th stood at 4877 words.

The meetups have also been a blast, meeting all of you was wonderful but Brood and TT will always hold a special attention from my crotch (I meant heart really).

The penultimate nostalgia is how often I can make a thread go dead for. My comments seem to confuse people and their ability to respond. It's a brillant talent.

The five of us in team Handsome was a lot of fun for a long time - me, Flawed, Shiara, Brood and TT. The amount of people who secretly applied for entry was embarrassing...

A nugget or two would not break the bank shin and I'd rather entrants put up rather than you forking it out of your own pocket. The words not fair spring to mind. While I do my damn-dest to do silly things and then try to get others to join in the general tomfoolery, you've set up something decent.

Tell you what, i'll put up 10 dollars? for the next one too. I'm not humungously rich, but seeing as I'm going to win anyway :) I'm calling it an investment . And there could be an option for entrants to donate towards the winning pot.

...so, you think you have what it takes to wrestle the crown from Yellow, eh? You think to stand in the way of my world domination? Well...I accept this challenge, and for every short story you write, I shall kill you..

I was reminded of this. Possibly my favourite thing I've ever written on the forum. Apart from all the 'I have TBH/RG/TTH and you don't, neh neh nehneh neh' messages to Abyss before he became a mod and I ran away like a little girl.

Edit for accuracy. That was The One Win To Rule Them All.

Ah yes, Dancer. You just gotta love thread-stopping posts. :respect:

I remember my first bit of rep (from Dancer, actually, iirc), and all sorts of random stuff - rep whoring, book releases, the I Win thread (OK, so that was basically rep whoring too...), but it's definitely seem some interesting times, this forum. ^^

As for Folken...well, let's just say he's gone.

That is indeed a classic ILLY. If ever there was a reason for the rep button there it is.

Hey, so much fun going down memory lane...

I miss the rep wars and the WIN thread, of course. A really tender moment for me was when I sneaked myself into the position of Abyss' apprentice. :)

Thread stopping posts are indeed wonderful, and somewhat of this community's specialty.

And I miss rep. For me rep was always closely tied to the forum. I remember always giving too much rep to Abyss'. I even think fondly of the snide remarks I got in the rep comments. :respect: Those were the days!

Was it Reaper's Gale that Abyss went through hell trying to get hold of his copy from the mailman? I recall that eliciting a fair few chuckles!

Yeah I remember. It was one of those classical Abyss stories that made people run out of rep. :)
