I hope to make the short story writing contest an annual event btw.

Only annual? :harhar:

Well, I would happily make it bi-annual (any more frequent than that and people would cop out of actually writing something).

However, I was happy to put up the $25 certificate for the contest and could do that annually, but I'm not really rich enough to self-sponser the contest more often than that.

I would make a "donations thread", but since no one donated to sweeten the $25 pot for this contest, I'm not confident that it would see anything happen.

Am I the only one who misses Marduk (Wiggles)?

No. He was annoying but entertaining anyway. I miss Gothos too.

Marduk was marginally entertaining some of the time. Gothos was a moody old git who hated everyone and everything that wasn't him. The forum does not suffer due to his absence.

I miss Snake, BAD and Tiste Simeon. They kept things fun. :harhar:

Me too, baby. Me too.

On the money note... the money is not as valuable as the sweet, sweet glory :harhar: But seeing as how I've already tasted the dough, I will donate next time as well.

How about each entry puts a couple of dollars in with their entry into your paypal account and that way the winners get something...Just a thought. I plan to enter the next contest and have no worries plonking a couple of coins along with my entry. And this way all entrants have a vested interest into performing at their best. Whatcha think?

We could do it that way, but I'm worried that putting money down will discourage some folks from participating. (Lots of people are poor students, or maybe don't want to go through the hassle of creating a paypal account if they don't already have one).

I would be happy with voluntary donations from people though, and since I am happy to act as official sponser I could at least pony up 5-10 bucks.

And did no one else notice that TISTE SIMEON just posted? And he has 4 Tootsie Pops! Good to see you again Tiste!

I think he was trying to make me feel bad for saying I missed Gothos and Wiggles, but not Tiste Simeon. But I have Tiste on Stalkerbook so it's not like he's gone away. :harhar:

Is Tiste the only person that misses this Snake guy?

A nugget or two would not break the bank shin and I'd rather entrants put up rather than you forking it out of your own pocket. The words not fair spring to mind. While I do my damn-dest to do silly things and then try to get others to join in the general tomfoolery, you've set up something decent.

Tell you what, i'll put up 10 dollars? for the next one too. I'm not humungously rich, but seeing as I'm going to win anyway :harhar: I'm calling it an investment . And there could be an option for entrants to donate towards the winning pot.

He turned back into Lokiman. He posted a couple of days ago I think.

Sad he's not spamming up the place any longer...

Once you've seen pictures of him wearing a dress, you can only WISH he was a myth.

I miss Snake, Marduk (he had up to about a dozen names in all I think), Potsherds, and maybe some others..
I keep in contact with those older members via other means now really.

They all had their merits. Snake was good fun when I was a Mod, there were days when I had to use my Modstick quite frequently because of him. Marduck was a just a real smartarse that went from making a highly intelligent post sometimes to a retardly stupid or outrageously offensive. Potsherds was cool in being the anti-theologan of the DB.

Then again I don't really post here too much anymore. Going overseas for a few months or 9 months a few times hear and there and being perma banned with my old user kinda helped that. As well as many of the older folk slowly leaving.

My post count would really be up in the Thousands (exluding the Inn) Im pretty sure if you to include my old one too.
