going back tot he Chicken
Apt, accordign to youtubem there wer 4 separate occasions of Chicken fights in Family guy, featuring the same chicken. They were all amusing, and that chicken could really take and dish out a beating.

still, I stand by in my belief that Goodkind's chicken wouldn't last a minute against that.

Dude, Goodkind's chicken was the Kryptonite to magic in SoT. He could totally take the Family Guy chicken. And Peter.

At the same TIME!

Shouldn't the fact that you wrote this be screaming something to you right now about the Sword of Truth series?

I have no idea what you're talking about. The chicken was just an incarnation of a Chime, nothing preposterous about that :ball:
I still heart Goodkind.

ummm. ok

is either peter or the chicken using magic?
didn't think so.

I still fail to see how a ordinary house chicken with delusions of grandeur and magic-dampening abilities can avoid several well-placed kicks in the ribs, that involve no magic, unless you consider Newtonian physics "magic"

Is it sad that I've read the whole series and I still have no clue exactly what the chimes were? All I got was that they fucked up magic...or something like that. Unraveled it?

@ Assail: Hopeless! :ball: Chimes... terrifying destroyer of magic and because of that also destroyer of Rick(rolled)land. Takes the form of a chicken. I repeat, a chicken.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

My God, I'm getting beat down here, it's so hard to justify it, but I..... must.... continue.... on!

@Mentalist
Obviously there is more to this chicken, I mean, when Kahlan saw it it's beak was covered in gore. This leads me to the conclusion that it really is quite deadly with said beak.
I still heart Goodkind.

I mean, why not a bear? Or a lion? A chicken? The ultimate old-time weapon of doom... takes the form of a chicken? The only thing that chicken should have been "obviously more" to this chicken is its Original Recipe taste.

Well shit you gotta take into consideration that if a lion or bear was chillin in a Mud People's hut they would have killed the bastard, skinned it and had it ready to cook in a couple of minutes.

Chimes are devious, and inconspicuous when the situation calls for inconspicuousness. Thus, CHICKEN!

Hahahaha, I don't believe it was specified, I don't have Soul of Fire on me so I can't look it up either. Just for arguments sake I'm going to guess it was a rooster. Just because.

But remember... this is no common rooster!

"Hissing, hackles lifting, the chicken's head rose. Kahlan pulled back. Its claws digging into stiff dead flesh, the chicken slowly turned to face her. It cocked its head, making its comb flop, its wattles sway. "Shoo," Kahlan heard herself whisper. There wasn't enough light, and besides, the side of its beak was covered with gore, so she couldn't tell if it had the dark spot, But she didn't need to see it. "Dear spirits, help me," she prayed under her breath. The bird let out a slow chicken cackle. It sounded like a chicken, but in her heart she knew it wasn't. In that instant, she completely understood the concept of a chicken that was not a chicken. This looked like a chicken, like most of the Mud People's chickens. But this was no chicken. This was evil manifest."

THIS WAS EVIL MANIFEST.

anyway: i also totally gave up on robin hobb's farseer trilogy about halfway through the second book but i cannot remember why except i thought it was boring

Nah, Hobb's farseer stuff was good, for me anyway.

Her Soldier-son trilogy... garbage, and that is an insult to garbage everywhere.

there's a limit on user name changes. iirc, you van change it once a month.

or you can PM one of the Super modrators (Cougar, RodeoRanch or Abyss) and ask them to change it.

don't make a habit of it though.
