You know, in a way we of these forums owe Goodkind a debt of gratitude.
The man has brought us closer together... in mutal hate.
So thank you Mr. Goodkind, for your shitty, preachy, sanctimonious series.

Despite the underlying hint of nausia and self rightiousness coupled with rape and sadsm, I maintain that all of the books had a couple of good ideas/moments in them. Probably not worth the endless waiting for the storylines to unfold to the exact point you knew they would, but some good ideas all the same.
Still, Goodkind has provided me with one of my favourite quotes of all time - and this is him, not one of his characters.
"You think democracy is always a good thing? Try telling that to someone who's been gang-raped." Or words to that effect.
Ample testiment to the monumental muppetry of the man

I want to die the way my dad died, peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

I actually think this is a horrible qoute. Sure, you could argue that Goodkind was "just writing a story" and that the qoute was what the character in question thought was what democracy is. But we all know that Goodkind didn't write his books like that. I think it is reasonable to assume that that qoute is indicative of his own personal opinions. Which only goes to show that he lacks a fundamental understanding of what democracy is and how it works. To suggest that a gang-rape is democracy is simply offensive and downright stupid.
Yeah, I said it, if this is Goodkinds level of understanding of political and social constructs, then he really is stupid!

I didnt mean I thought it was good in that way... I meant I liked it because it highlights how much of a cock this man really is. And the quote is from an interview, not from one of his books... So straight from the horses mouth...

Come now Primateus, as we all know, 9 out of 10 people enjoy gang rape.

Gosh Apt, you've caused my one dilemma of this day. To rep or not to rep, and if to rep, red or green.
That's one really uncomfortable rule 34 sardonic statement you made there.

Jimmy Carr, originally, I believe. So no rep in either direction required.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

Ah, thanks for enlightening me. It looks worse on paper than when said (higher shock value, but less chewing on it).
It could have been something one of our top Dutch comedians would say.... Hans Teeuwen (perhaps known, he's a critic's favorite yet you brits hate him) would certainly be able to.
