Arrhh, just received a package and absentmindedly I signed the courier's tablet with my finger. The same tablet dozens of people have probably used today. And I didn't wash my hands.

Now I'm feeling slightly hot and itchy! It got me! I'm sure to be dead in a matter of days! Oh the humanity!

Work are phoning round for extra shifts as we've got ICU patients in recovery that need round the clock care. Inevitable I guess but how long before we're just trapped there as no one will be available to relieve us?
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I'm available off hours for IT consulting. I warn you the prices I charge are ridiculous, and skimping on IT is probably why your company is where it is today.

If you're serious about this, would you help me figure out how to host a private server for Xmage? I want to play with friends, but the official guide is pre supposing so much knowledge that I don't have. I would pay you via Venmo.

The Rand dollar is collapsing because of corona and my country finally got junk status today as well. I tried getting my money out but legislation stopped me taking it all out at once. I have lost a ton because of this: I’m kicking myself.

One of the guys I work with is a bit of a nut, he's constantly sending me bullshit memes (conspiracy theories) and swallows every video he sees whole. He has now discovered Rach Cellars YouTube channel and thinks I'm gonna sit and watch a 21min video on the Corona virus and 'UK nurse Kate's opinion on how it links to 5G. I clicked randomly at a few points on the video, I heard 'vachines are actually full of aborted babies tissue' and, well, I figured I'd heard enough.

Fuck how do these people actually leave the house if they believe half of this stuff

(Edit, before a nut jumps in, I am aware that some of the components in some vaccines are cultured in cells from aborted fetal tissue, but its from the same damned one for the last 50 odd years, it's not like the Southpark episode about Christopher Reeve)

Maccy have you seen to the responses to the 5g tower fire in Birmingham? You'll love it. (You will not, in fact, love it)

When people insist on sending me long videos instead of stating their opinion on a thing, I've started asking them to summarize the argument (gotta protect my youtube recs). It's weird how often people just can't or won't do it.

I recently startet doing the same (asking for a summary). It's surprising how often this ends the conversation.

Ask them a series of questions that boils down to "And why do you believe that?" each time they dive deeper down the rabbit hole, sooner or later they start saying things that even they realise are batshit insane. Also "Let me get this straight..." and then repeat a boiled down selection of their insanity to them followed by "Is that right?" occasionally works. I use the last one on my mum; she hates it :D

As for 5G - 5G uses millimetre waves, pretty similar to those used by military radars iirc - ask them why people in air bases or in the navy aren't all ill. And watch their heads explode.

Edit - Even more iirc millimetric radar was invented during WW2 for submarine hunting; so why weren't people getting ill from them 70-odd years ago?

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants.
