I continue to be sick, which is extremely irritating.
Also I hate that Oathbringer came out 2 days before DL. I wanted to read DL and then go to Oathbringer, now I have to parallel read, which I don't want to do.

Military coup in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe has now completed its slide into the abyss. Chance of recovery? Just short of zero.
They have 95% unemployment, Africa has no interest in intervening and the rest of the world even less unroll they change their 'policies.
It's amazing that the country hasn't done any more damage for he surrounding region.

I can't imagine how a new dictator could be any worse than Mugabe.

Worse? No. Not better though.
I'm kinda hoping they shoot him and his wife. Does that make me a bad person? I still hope they shoot them. Hope his offspring in S.A. have most of their wealth frozen. You would think that would already have happened. Guess they hid it well.
His whole family has been a blight on Zimbabwe. Don't know how you go from leading a revolution to having your children being educated in South Africa (because Zimbabwe has no universities left) pouring champagne on their breirtling watches on their Instagram feed and boasting that it's their due cause their dad runs the whole country.
One of the worst legacies of colonialism is that it seems to have the left the feeling that it's better to not say anything against the leaders of the revolution than it is to be seen agreeing with the West against them.
Even now the SADC region is doing all it can to not call a coup a coup or it means they will have to do something and acknowledge bad leadership.

Why is it that these days when you buy a music album online they will provide you with an mp3 version of the record as a free addition, but when you buy a book you still need to fork out nearly the same amount of money again if you want an eBook version of it too? It really does my head in. I like a physical paper book simply because of how if feels and looks etc. But I also like to have a digital version to read on the bus/train. Yet I'm not going to fork out twice the amount in order to obtain both. Printing media really is decades behind the times.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

And that's it. The eBook/digital print stuff has not caught up with the music scene. As the music scene on a digital front began int eh mid-90's with Napster and MP3s....and has had more than 20 years to get into a groove where we currently sit. Whereas eBook are still newish in comparison. And as curmudgeonly and bad as the record companies who had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the digital age were...Publishing companies are much older, and MUCH more stuck in their ways. I expect what you are seeking to take at least another decade before they buckle.
You also need younger companies who publish, or self-publishers like Michael J. Sullivan to take the reigns and FORCE the old companies into changing because otherwise they will lose the customers (and Authors) by being better and offering better options.
For example, Michael J. Sullivan its currently kickstarting his latest Ryria Chronicles novel and had the audio book recorded at the same time as well as the eBook (obviously) as the print copy. So as a backer (for I think about $30 CDN), I get a hardback copy of the book (about 6 months before it will hit stores to boot), and an eBook copy (plus a bunch of backer rewards) within about 2 weeks of each other (the time diff is simply for shipping) and I THINK for another $10-15 I would have also had access to the Audio version if I wanted to. I mean, this is a guy who literally made everything himself, including having the audio recorded professionally...and is offering it all to people at the same time and NOT for double the price. It's here where the new wave/trend will start...with guys like him who KNOW the publishers are dinosaurs who refuse to change.

One of the best players on our team did something bad to his Achilles' tendon yest. Not sure what, but we hearts the pop from the bench, and he could barely stand on that foot afterwards.
Makes my own injury feel insignificant (I either did a really bad stub, or I got kicked- not sure which), but my foot is definitely sprained, as it hurts to flex, with the pain being all over the inside top of the foot. I'm fairly confident it's not broken (not that kind of pain), but i'll probably be limping for a few days, which is annoying.

I think my marriage just hit an iceberg.
I'm just waiting to find out if it's just dented or had its guts ripped out below the waterline.
