Internet down for practically the whole day - just got it back now, and everything is flooding in. Feeling overwhelmed.

Waking up depressed is becoming a bit too regular for my comfort. Its a bit difficult to be productive with the day starting like that.

You know, I am starting to wonder about humanity.
It's the little things. Like, "am I seriously the only person who even tries to walk in a straight line?", and, "do these people really have nothing better to do than parrot conspiracy theories and science denial tag lines?", or "is it really that hard for people to not harass or assault or rape other people who may appear attractive to them?", or "what part of 'if your opinion is derogatory of someone else because of something inherent about them then it's bigotry and you should probably keep it to yourself or better yet examine your own biases' is so goddamn hard to accept?".
People are such assholes.

Because you don't know the power of the dark side.
Seriously, it's harder for people to do the right thing than to give in to their more selfish, base instincts. That's why truly good people are respected but rarely emulated. We can do it in groups at a low level, as cooperation appeals to our enlightened self-interest. We can impose laws and obey them etc because of the social contract of the greater good. But as individuals, when it's in those grey areas - or areas that used to be grey but are now becoming more defined anyway - that we tend to give into our darker impulses. Especially when we have some measure of power ourselves, and consequences seem to far away and trivial.
TL;DR - if we think we can get away with it, we will have a go. Nature pretty much built us to be selfish (ie arseholes) to give ourselves the best chance of success and propagation. The only things preventing us are our own moral codes or fear of consequences. These feelings and the ability to be clear-headed about them become more diluted the more personal power we have.
Hmm, made more sense in my head.

I keep forgetting that it's impossible to get anything productive done on Sundays when my mom's at home. "Puck, can you sort out the laundry?", "I'm hungry, when is dinner's going to be ready?", "Do you think that shirt/dress/whatever still suits me?", "Can you go to the bank and do some transfers for me?" (She doesn't know her own bank account security code, btw) I don't care, dammit! I just want to work on my advent kalender pic in peace!

Even if you can't get it checked out or get a good doctor, a few lifestyle changes can do wonders for depression (more exercise, less caffeine and alcohol, regular sleep schedule, more fruit and vegetables in diet). Though if you do all those things already them my 2 cents are worthless.

Do you have a way to get in with a psychiatrist or someone along those lines? If you are depressed a lot, it may be something they can help with, either from talking through things and/or medications. I take meds for my obsessive compulsive disorder and that helps a lot.

Got my calf smashed pretty good. Gonna be tender tomorrow.
The other guy never came back on the field. I blame this on my entire team being hell-bent on scoring (and mostly failing, since for most of the game we had a 1 goal lead, punctuated by 3 on 1, or 3 on 2 counters, with me being the only one on this team who likes to defend (there were 2 other guys, but they'r both injured). Everyone else is far more skilled then me, but they all want to play up.
On the bright side, my marking was surprisingly on point, and I feel like I sweated out the lion's share of yesterday's liquor. Gonna be able to turn in early tonight and get some decent rest before tomorrow's work.

This - start by seeing a doctor, and they may refer you to a therapist / psychologist / if it's warranted. (I don't know how it is there but here you almost always need a referral from your GP to see a specialist.)
Conversely, you can just try talking to a close friend or family member, if you'd rather start there. Sometimes getting a different perspective on things or just having a friendly shoulder to cry on can really help, speaking from experience.

All good advice. Seems like that doctors appointment will be coming up sooner than expected. Very sick today with bodyache and fever. There is a lot of dengue going around, hope its not that.
