I’m torn. Someone I know is posting on Facebook about rigged usa elections, trump is amazing and a little qanon (trump exposed pedophilia in the us government and Hollywood). I would find it a little entertaining to dismantle her post point bu point, she was kind enough to bullet point it. I am reminded however that arguing with stupid is pointless, they drag you down to their level and win with experienced.

There is no way your target will be convinced by anything you say but undecided observers may be persuaded. I have a friend who constantly argue with stupid on FB while staying cool with the sole purpose of convincing less informed undecided observers.

Reading the mostly redacted report on our special forces and how they constantly tortured and murdered young men in Afghanistan is more than messing with me mood right now.

And yet, we'll still be expected to honour them and their service come ANZAC Day. 😑

Somedays I am fairly certain I am a secondary character in other people's stories.

Sometimes I wish I had that sort of billing! "Man in background" is my usual gig.

But most of the time I'm quite happy to slide under the radar. As they say "Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines".
You also avoid a lot of annoying drama that way.

I've always believed in the truth of the Chamberlain's curse "May you live in interesting times" - Better to live a dull, normal life. Keep your head down and you'll live a happy unexceptional life.

I always thought that was an old Chinese proverb rather than Chamberlain.

A broken washing machine and a 4 year old who likes to roll in mud is not a good combination.

I would assume they get together and solve crimes...

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell

You really shouldn't put your kid in a washing machine. It will void the warranty.

That would require a lot more brain power than my washing machine has.

Cold. Generally I'm not a big complainer about cold weather. Where I live, you have to be able to embrace the suck that is winter weather at times. But that first cold weather that is accompanied by overcast skies and a continuous frigid wind from the north. Fuck you. Fuck you right in your cold ass frigid titties. That wind is the worst. That relentless, cutting to the bone, dancing aching chill on your skin, asshole cold wind. It can fuck off. I hate it.

I bet they're on the trail of a money laundering organisation.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

I see this all the time and it bothers me. In the United States of America why the fuck is the soap and Body wash often under lock and key in stores?
