15-20.

I'm contemplating a more expensive, but less headache inducing journey home...we will see.

Damn, that much eh? Wish I had checked the forecast before leaving this morning... was planning to drive to hamilton, don't think that'll happen anymore.

So sick of winter.

What, the whole 3 week's we've had so far?

Well... yes, it's been a rough few weeks! Snowy and cold as hell, waiting at the GO station has been brutal.

I pity the fool who calls QT a hipster! You're gonna have gentle, Canadian hell to pay.

Yep, Toronto. My grandparents lived in Victoria though...

If there is such a thing as an anti-hipster...I feel that would have a picture of me next to the description indeed. See also: GenXer as opposed to Millennial.

Yeah but then it's endless rain and SAD and everyone compensating by getting endlessly irritatingly high all the time.

It's the middle of the Canadian winter and 1) it's sunny today; 2) I was out and about wearing a long-sleeved shirt without feeling cold; and 3) not a single snowflake this year.

I think temperatures dropped under 0 twice this year.

Take that.

I wasn't there when it happened but some douche opened his gate while my dog was out for a walk and his dog ran out, not on a leash, and attacked and bit my dog and the dog walker. Had to tale dog walker for shots and my dog has two piercings in its hind legs. had to go the vet get it cleaned and stapled and she was scared and sad. Now she has to wear the cone of shame.

We had to submit potential training courses to our supervisor for approval today, up to 3. My supervisor only approved 2 of my choices but he approved all 3 for my colleague. We chose the same courses. It strikes me as a bad sign but I also think part of the difference is that I was very thorough and listed the dates, course duration and most importantly the costs of the courses. The one that was not approved was by far the most expensive. A year long course in project/business management. Ill be pissed if I end up penalized because I was thorough. Otherwise it does mean my colleague is favored. My colleague just out down 'project management'

I thought you were moving to the States? If your current employer is aware of that, I can imagine why they wouldn't want to send you on an expensive year-long course?
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Further updates. Seems mum's hubby may have actually had the oesophageal cancer as a secondary. And that it might have been mesothelioma.

Have to see if the coronor referral needs following through but still shitty overall.

They friggin canceled school tomorrow because of the cold. Looks like ole SB gets to stay home tomorrow.

Normally I could put this in the Happy thread, but I have a metric fuckton of work to get done.

Strangely enough, a lot of school got cancelled around here for today and tomorrow because of the rain.

It has also snowed in Britain. So naturally the place has descended into chaos.

Coroner has deemed it fruitless to investigate asbestos line as very little chance that it was relevant. So COD is eso with bone meta. But still... Less than a week from diagnosis to passing. Fucking what.

This is a very minor moan by comparison, but the inevitable creep of people stopping responding or just ghosting the whole Three Peaks Walk thing.

I get it.... it's twenty four miles and three big hills, and it can sound great when asked and then cold light of day sets in, you realise you don't have time/aren't going to be fit enough, or any whole host of other reasons why it's no longer viable. That's fine.... but say something. Don't just leave me to wonder what the hell is going on or expect me to chase you before you own up.

I get that this is a personal project for me so I'm likely to be a bit sensitive (perhaps too much so), but at the best of times regardless I can't stand people flaking without having the decency to just say "Hey, sorry, can't do it anymore."

So, deleted the event group (it was mainly a canvassing interest/people being able to sort accommodation, and everyone who needed it has it now) and will contact the people who are actively interested directly. Having a smaller group of people who are invested on the day is going to be probably more enjoyable than a larger one with people being a bit half-arsed about it.

(On a positive note though, the fundraiser is at a third of target already, thanks in part to some of the lovely folks on here, and that's amazing! :))

Not a comfort but I think I'd rather go that way than fighting the battle for months or years. But I also have few investments.

Yeah, I agree. The pain was apparently very bad for a few months but then once controlled it was a painless end. So that's a mercy. Most of my worry now is for my mum, who's on her own again.

The stress of trying to look after everyone over the weekend was enough that I have a lovely chest infection now. Wheeee.
